St. Albert Hofmann Dies at 102
I think at this point of time I would like to start from the very beginning, the discovery of LSD-25. Hofmann was studying the medicinal plant squill and the fungus ergot as part of a program to purify and synthesize active constituents for use as pharmaceuticals at Sandoz Laboratories in Basel. While researching lysergic acid derivatives, Hofmann first synthesized LSD-25 in 1938.
He set it aside for five years, until April 16, 1943, when Hofmann decided to take another look at it. That day, he became the first human to experience the effects of LSD after accidentally ingesting a minute amount.

Three days later, on April 19, 1943, he decided to verify his results by intentionally ingesting 250 ug of LSD. This day has become known as “Bicycle Day” as Hofmann experienced an incredible bicycle ride on his way home from the lab.
Since that time to now, LSD has been used by a lot of people to find their inner selves, connect with God and Nature. In the 1960′s LSD was used as a recreational drug and was used by hippies, this is the time Hofmann saw a problem arising and later wrote his book “LSD: My Problem Child” about how he looked upon LSD as a medicine for the soul.
The LSD Symposium organized for Hofmann on his 100th birthday in Basil he told the crowd of well-wishers, that included 2,000 researchers, scientists, artists and historians. “LSD wanted to tell me something. It gave me an inner joy, an open mindedness, a gratefulness, open eyes and an internal sensitivity for the miracles of creation,” said Albert.
Take a look at Hofmann’s closing speech on his 100th birthday, its pretty amazing I do hope everyone can see the miracle in a man of that age.
Well it was the USA that banned it, after conducting a lot of covert testing on the army, they thought the army would fight better with the confusion and enhanced brain activity that LSD causes. But well let me not take the joy of watching the video of the British Military test below.
If a substance that can make a soldier who is trained to kill, brainwashed to go to war so that they can be called patriots can be turned into people who want to climb trees to feed the birds, do you think a capitalist world or the so called democracy’s would survive?
All in all I would like to say a big thank you to someone I hold great respect for, he showed us the light and LSD-25 will continue to be the beacon for all of us looking to find God and ourselves.
