Goodbye Global Warming

Submitted by 13 Comments

gloabl warming blunderIf you are a regular reader here you would have come across one of the many articles on Global Warming that we have blogged about. But as change and understanding is never constant with us, we are going to close down this section that we started off in mid 2006.

It could be considered as a hilarious thing to do when Global Warming is supposedly at its peak. But as strange as it may seem, we are now inclined to believe that the whole Global Warming entourage was a well thought and executed business plan.

Al Gore LiedA few months ago a friend of mine asked me if I had watched Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and went on about the awesomeness of it. It is perhaps the bible of an eco-friendly geek, is what I assume without watching it as yet.Mr Al Gore has got his facts and data skewed, and even worse its done intentionally. Take a look at this article on how the data has been falsified (do read the comments as well), stating various credible sources like the Telegraph etc. on how the data is just put there to scare the masses and introduce new taxes.

Himalayan Glacier Size Increasing

We all know how important the Himalayas are, considering that they house the most Glaciers in the world it would be important to see how these Glaciers are fairing with the whole earth heating up.

Glacier size increasingAccording to the Times of India article, “Himalayan glaciers here to stay

The conclusion was drawn by glaciologists after studying the behaviour of 35 Himalayan glaciers. The Mentossa glacier in Miyar valley of Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh has, in fact, expanded in the last few years while there is no change in the Kangriz glacier in Zanskar valley of J&K since 1913.

Even the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), that produces global warming reports, are under scrutiny for giving an exaggerated prediction about the Himalayan glacier meltdown.

Its funny that if the glaciers are melting at a normal rate, what does Mr Al Gore have to gain with his prophecy on Global Warming? While he has gone and got half the world scared, Gore has invested in business that will benefit from the entire green revolution he desires.

Gore will be the first carbon billionaire! Hope this justifies the reasons why we shall no longer support the global warming bandwagon and embrace climate change with open arms. The truth is we all need to reconnect with nature and play a role in saving the climate.

The debate over whether global warming is going to be the exterminator of the human race or not could go on for decades. But do we really want to take such a chance?…It is about time that we took some action towards cleaning up our rivers and seas so that we restore natural balance to nature, without sitting and debating about whether it is a threat or not. We need more action like i saw here http://q2cpetitions.blogspot.com/2011/06/save-holy-ganges-ganga-river.html to start taking some serious action towards the preservation of our greatest natural resources like the holy ganga river, the mighty himalayas and the heavenly forests.

Michelle says:

An interesting point of note is that the United Nations study group on Global Warming that developed a "consensus" of 2300 (is that the accurate number?) scientists involves only a consensus of those who opted to stay on the project – a couple hundred. The vast majority abandoned the project because the results were so badly skewed towards sun spots instead of carbon emissions.

Doug says:

As the sun continues to slumber, the ocean cools and the polar icecaps grow as time goes on it becomes more and more evident that global warming is simply a money making scam that ignores the environment and does almost nothing to help it.

the scheme goes something like this….if you can afford carbon credit ratings for the various polluting processes you use……you can continue polluting…and if you cant afford em …you cant pollute our precious mother earth buddy….
we might as well paint losers on all our heads…mark ourselves for execution like they did the jews…..
hmm…mittal is opening 2 steel plants in karnataka soon… he's bought enough carbon credits to be allowed to pollute one of the last few biodiversity hotspots in the world….

God is created this planet for human pleasure(pleasure is distrubueted according to brain)and God is super most brainy. but human wants more and got more painful life. in this earth u dont have to do anything except taking pleasure wat god is awarded to u. earlier people dies with TB now with AIDS in future AIDS is curable but people will die due to new disease. people r dieing but name of disease has changing. u want stop the death. now u have a lot of fast and delicious food but u cant eat because u r suffering from diabetics. same way u had made progress by going to mars, aeroplane, etc but wats the use when u r not able to enjoy. after all wat for this? human pleasure. now everyone in this earth is in pain.
for global warming u start bicycling instead of investing such money, time and mind ion such discussion than ur problem of global warming + bad health = solved

I am having a doubt on this study. The reason being that the whole world knows that global warming affects the globe and it also affecting Antarctica as well, then, how is Himalayan glaciers are increasing? And if the message that it's false is spread, it will cause terrible problems.
It will definitely affect the thinking of the common man that they are safe and todays population, pollution and other sources can't affect their life. Thus they are not going to take care of it.

Anonymous says:

The theory may be true, or may not be true. But it has definitely impacted the ordinary man's consciousness. And if the message that it's false is spread, it will cause terrible problems. The guilt that some individuals will have when contributing to needless pollution will dissappear once again. Because now they would think, "How does it matter. The earth is fine and cant be affected by these minor actions."

Even if this theory is wrong, it is causing good to the world. So why stop that?

In my opinion, global warming or no global warming, India atleast is going to suffer a SEVERE CRISIS in 30-40 years, that will probably lead to death of millions. Water crisis, food crisis, and popuation crisis all await us. Even with a strong and clean government, and no war, we'll have a tough time.

And then there are the nuclear bombs. The earth has enough to destroy itself over and over again. Do you honestly think that a nuclear war won't happen in the next million years? Cuz that's the time it takes for radioactive materials to decompose.

Hi,
We now know that global warming as a phenomenon that is happenning and will continue to happen is not an established scientific fact.
Does that mean that it is not happenning? Of course not – it just means that we are not able to prove it either ways.
And moreover, does that mean that we should not work towards reducing greenhouse gases? Or reducing industrial pollutants? I think not, right?
It is unfortunate that in trying to make "climate change" a reason for a call for immediate action, it has actually back-fired and caused credibility issues. Much better to have not gone for a doomsday prediction and worked with facts as they are – there are so many other effects of non-sustainable living that we should be scared about. Lack of clean water, air for one. New lifestyle diseases for another.

I really appreciate you openness on closing this down. More importantly for us is to understand that not everything which is published from top agencies is unquestionable and not everything can be accounted for anything. Thank you.

@ abi

thanks, have stated a couple of the sources, although there are many more.

the main reason why we are shuttin down the global warming section is we now choose to be part of the cure, by teaching people how to live sustainable lives and not part of the disease

Cheers, thanks for subscribing, peace & love

Clyde

hey Clyde,
initially, while i read yr post, i was like.. why? i believe global warming exists, from a first hand experience, not what others have been talking bout.. i agree there are too many points that go against the theory of global warming, if u’ve read the “State of fear” by Michael Crichton but there are also many that support the theory. none the less, i believe there is a change that can be noticed hence i’ve taken a bold step for environmental sustainability called “Ek Titli” – pls chk http://www.ektitli.org

i liked yr comment on why u plan to stop talking bout the problem and focusing on the solutions..
on the same front, we have put together an online magazine talking bout all the Good, Constructive, and Positive work happening in the field of Green by individuals and organizations.
pls hv a look and drop in a word or two on yr suggestions/feedback.

Nice posting mate, i think it depends on where what your source of information is to come up with any conclusion.

I think we should be too anal about the issues, be aware and live a sustainable life. Put pressure to those who need to step up for the betterment of everyone!
