A Time to Reflect

Sooner rather than later, here's a short review of 2017 by few of our authors - Bhavika J and Nikki Sapp - talking about how 2017 turned out for them. The past is over and gone but it leaves behind remnants of hope, positivity and courage to cope with the uncertainties of life.

Here we go...

Reflections

Another year has come to an end,
Makes me question where do I stand.
In this world moving so fast,
I feel the need to pause, take a breath at last.

A promising new year, a new beginning awaits,
Leaving the old I plunge into unknown fates.
A leap of courage and a change
It could be good and a bit strange!

What lies ahead is always unknown,
As I desire security and not get blown.
By the changes that beckon us,
Keeping your cool is a must.

The uncertainties of life can be a bit tricky,
It makes my mind go all flaky.
Patience and calmness is name of the game I know
But the mind doesnt listen, it wants to move to and fro.

Bring the mind home, experience stillness
Within solitude I won't feel listless.

So in this new year let's leave all behind;
Your darkness, your sorrows, your grudges and the daily grind.
Keep the hope, feel the love and a daily inner cleanse,
Is the recipe to unravel the hidden gems.

Within each of us lies the power
To transform and blossom like a magical flower.

~ Bhavika J

Nikki Sapp's review

I wish I could say that 2017 was filled with radical changes and life-altering adventures, but in fact it was quite the opposite. This past year I begin to be more comfortable than ever in what I call “the blank”, or my inner stillness. This change was very much welcomed considering 2016 was definitely a “dark night of the soul” year, with relationships reaching their expiration, family members being ill, and other heartbreaking moments.

While an already healed version of myself entered 2017, soon it became evident that life was calling me to trust my intuition more and take a risk. I decided to quit a job that was not making me happy and took 6 months to focus only on myself and my son, and my writing.

Taking this leap only proved to me how safe & taken care of we all truly are here, when unexpectedly after I quit, I was blessed with the financial means to support myself during this much needed break. When the means are required, the universe shall provide.

My intentions for 2018 are to cultivate the courage to make more empowered choices in my life. I’m beginning to see anchoring more loving, healthy and courageous choices in the areas of my life where I have previously been reactive, unhealthy, or fearful is how the universe is pulling me into the "light" - completely and utterly.
