Hi ,
I'm not talking about gold, nor am I talking about the workings of the world. But many times on our journey, especially at the point when things get difficult, we start looking for the answer outside.
It's during troubling times, we either turn to a known or unknown god or god man, guru, try a change of habit or lifestyle, we read books that offer self-help, try new rituals or experiences and are quick to grasp anything that sounds helpful no matter how useful it may really be.
Why is it that we find it so hard to look within? To introspect and change our own behaviours? Is it our conditioning, we always tend to look outside to put the onus on others for our situations and problems.
I love this quote by Vikto Frankl, "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
Whatever the stimulus may be, disease, emotions, finance, we all have the ability to respond to the stimulus in many ways. The power to change who you are and mould who you want to be has always been within you. You don't need to look outside, the inside changes the outside, and the outside can only influence you.
But everything you could want to be is already within you. Stop running around in circles and start digging within.
