In this overly stressful life, it’s easy to get triggered by the slightest nudge or push. The morning meditation you did to stay calm really comes to the test here. 

With a mother of 3 children - a 14-year-old, a 9-year-old, and a 3-year-old - all require different levels of attention with absolutely different needs, it can be challenging, chaotic, and beautiful. Balancing work, home chores, family, and the needs of others can get exhausting and overwhelming. 

I need some Hygge time in my life. The Danish term, Hygge (pronounced as ‘Hoo-gah’), caught my attention. It means to make ordinary moments feel special, pleasurable, and meaningful. 

Hygge is a self-care technique where you create a comforting, cozy atmosphere - light candles, snuggle under soft blankets, have something soothing to drink, spend time with your loved ones, so it's about slowing down and doing the little things that really matter. 

You need to have enough time, don’t we yearn for that, to not be in a hurry, focus on the simple pleasures, and mindfully indulge. The point of any spiritual teaching is to stay calm amid chaos. Tough, yes, it is; however, that’s what makes this life journey worth living, isn’t it?

Some hygge time is what we all need!
