Hi ,

There is a small exercise I have started to practice - to write down the “10 Positive Things that Happened Today.” It sounds like another manifestation technique or working on the law of attraction, but it has the power to work on the subconscious mind, habitual mind in a very subtle manner.

When I was asked to do so, I felt that 10 things sounded like too many positive things to write. What if my day doesn’t go well? What if I don’t have so many positive things happening in one day? The monkey mind kept on focusing on how difficult the task would be.

A couple of days into this, and the mind was wrong. The beauty of this exercise lies in its subtlety and simplicity. When you sit to reflect on your day, you begin to see the smallest acts that were positive, and you begin to take note of the simple joys of life - the fragrance of a flower, the chirping of the birds when you wake up in the morning, the smile on your child’s face as soon as she sees you, the little helping hand you get to make your task a bit easy.

These are small blessings that make your day a bit brighter. I read examples of some people whose lives were transformed by doing this simple exercise, because you are training your mind to see the positivity in a situation.

It is a daunting challenge, but try it out, take a book and pen before you go to sleep, and jot down the 10 positive things that happened to you today, follow it every day, with complete determination and a willingness to retrain the subconscious mind and break our old habitual patterns.

With Love,

Bhavika & Clyde
