Feed Your Soul and Not Your Ego

soul ‌

We work to make money, if you are lucky you make money from what you love to do. That love for work translates to nurturing the soul. Many times we simply do things to get it done, it becomes a part of our daily (mundane) activities. But what I realised is that it is like a virus which catches hold of you and not let go.

I have to finish this task, and then the other and then the other...and it continues, until you realise the day is over and you were so busy caught up in completing your list of things to do.

The catch is to have a safety net from the virus - make a conscious effort to keep things that can wait on hold, and ONLY do things that really feed your soul; it is a rewarding and a fulfilling experience.

If watering the plants feeds your soul, do it. If sewing, knitting or making something for your child, does the trick...do it. It is important that we pay attention to our soul, rest of the things from the to-do list can wait. Today, I completed a knitted toy, which was lying in my bag for several years, for my 4-year old. It was a gratifying experience and he loved it too.

What are you doing today to feed your soul?

Here are few of our articles for the nurturing soul ~

The soul is constantly in danger of being smothered. Or worse, undeveloped. By soul I mean it the way Bill Plotkin describes it: “The vital, mysterious, and wild core of our individual selves, an essence unique to each person, qualities found in layers of the self, much deeper than our personalities.”

Understanding the Soul According to the Bhagavad Gita

There is a part of us at work behind the thoughts we think, behind the emotions we feel. Something that animates this body and gives rise to ecstatic experiences.

The Soul or Ego ~ Which one Interprets Your Life Patterns?

Awareness allows us to decipher the meaning and patterns of life; it offers a road map to navigate this human existence. It opens the door for synchronicity, epiphany, divine grace to infuse our lives.

Ten Poems Every Spiritual Seeker Should Read

The master poet is a cultivator of human flourishing, tending to the soul with art, poetry, and myth, with failure and loss, with ambiguity and complexity; rather than soulless, machine-like, diagnosis and bureaucratic treatment.
