Hi ,
Running an Airbnb allows you to meet all kinds of people, I recently had a guest who stayed with us, he was newly married. In India it's still common to have an Arranged Marriage. Where the couple meets each other a couple of times and decides to get married.
The first night when I spent some time with them, he was talking about how he's been honest and fair all his life and strives to be that way no matter what the outcome is. I never read much into it and accepted what he said without judgement.
If you're not aware Bhavika's mom had a bit of an issue, she slipped and broke her thigh bone. So I was there to provide the little support I could and I came back just before the next guest checked in.
What I found is the last guests, ended up burning out one of our boilers by leaving it on without water inside. They never let me know and when I reached out to him saying it would have been nice to let me know so the next guest wasn't inconvenienced.
He wrote back to me saying, I don't know what you're talking about, you should be more hands on with your maintenance :) Here's a quick question for you, could you guess the profession of this person?
So I was worried and skeptical, and the next guest came in the wife made me a cup of tea and when the husband got in he opened a bunch of beers and shared stories and ended up having a really good time.
There are so many kinds of people in this world, running a home stay lets me meet so many different ones, I meet all with a open heart and mind and honestly there are very few that leave me disappointed. I just wanted to say thank you to all the kind-hearted people out there making the world a better place by putting a smile on someone's face :)
