Hi ,

Let me be honest, I didn’t understand the role of a mother until I became one. It is such a big role to play in life, imagine raising humans in this world that is wounded and falling apart. It is a humongous task.

To focus on the beauty in the world, to see the world from the eyes of a child, to keep the magic and wonder alive for them, to ensure that you don’t enforce your ideologies and beliefs on them, to give them the freedom yet healthy boundaries to grow and expand, to be the torch bearers for them so you guide them on this path of life.

I feel mothers are the shaman in a child’s life. They have to keep giving healthy doses of medicine in the form of love, care, warmth, communication, touch, so the child doesn’t lose his way, or if he does, she lovingly brings him back.

This is only possible to do if you take care of your own mental and emotional landscape, find the time to nurture yourself, and engage in mind-body discipline, so you can maintain your sanity and have the strength to be the loving authority your child needs.

So a shoutout to all the mothers reading this right now, young or old, take a moment of pause. I know you have been through a lot in your own life, maybe you had a traumatic childhood, or a scarred relationship with your mother, or perhaps a happy one, you have made it so far, you are incredible, and you are doing a wonderful job. I honor the divine mother in each one of us. ?
