We often live our lives holding on to our past like a baby not letting go of what's in their grasp, such a tight grip and not willing to let go. There is nothing to be gained by holding on to something with a clenched fist. The past dictates our lives, robbing us from enjoying the present. What we fail to see is that the outcome of the past cannot be changed, and what we do have in our control is only the present. There is a lot to learn from nature. A tree sheds or shrinks its leaves in summer to preserve its energy from the scorching heat, the snake sheds its skin when it has outgrown it, the caterpillar gives up its body and undergoes a transformation and emerges as a butterfly.
Everything in nature is willing to let go of what doesn’t serve its purpose, why do humans hold on to everything - whether it's grudges, the past, our identity, our habitual patterns etc? Let’s come together on September 16th to set a strong intent to let go and work towards honouring it. Give yourselves permission to acknowledge and look at what is holding us back.
