“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields, has the power to move you, if the simple things of Nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.”

~ Eleonora Duse

Hi ,

For most of us, our entire life is planned right from the time we are born - go to this school, follow our religion, graduate from this university, get a job, get married, buy a house, have kids, retire at a certain age - and amidst all this drama, life is what happens to us in between these ‘milestones’.

At at times we question ourselves, are we really living?

‌
‌

“When we get to looking at everything in terms of survival and profit as we do, then, the shapes of scratches on the floor seize to have magic…”

~ Alan Watts: Acceptance of death.

‌

The whole point of life is ‘living’. But with chasing these goals, one thing after another, this whole pursuit of happiness keeps us away from actually living. We may seem to have completely missed the point.

Until there comes a breakthrough moment, when your eyes open wide, there is some kind of divine intervention or an epiphany of sorts that rips open your heart and mind, and you hear this thing called, ‘life’ calling you out, awaiting your arrival.

If you choose to ignore this call, it manifests in different ways throughout our life. We have this two part article for members on the cycle of life and how ignoring these calls affect us.

The famous words of William Henry Davies in the poem Leisure comes to mind -

What is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs

And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,

Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,

Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,

And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can

Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care.

We have no time to stand and stare.

Did you make the time to look at the stars today?

Here are a few articles that can help you tune in to your beat!
