Hi ,
There are so many ways to have mystical experiences in life, I would say that one of the difficult ways, that gets tougher each day is to find a space in Nature where the hands of man has not rearranged.
Places such as these have such an impact on our being, the energy levels are at an all time high, the relaxation and comfort they exude leaves you recharged even when you seem to be burning out energy while walking through them.
A new freelance job along with the kids summer vacations has allowed us to travel after a dry spell of 4 years, as those of you who have read the last newsletter are possibly aware that we're in the Himalayan regions of India, a place known as "Dev Bhoomi" or "Land of Gods" in English.
The common tourist places are going to the dogs, inefficient garbage disposal, beautiful cities have garbage dumps besides rivers to an extent that the stink goes out for meters, we never stay but visit them to see how much they have changed over the years.
The places that brought peace a decade ago are now no longer peaceful, but the speaker bearing, alcohol fueled man in search of nothing but pleasing themselves have replaced the sounds of nature.
So to go deeper in to the forests, where no roads lead, where the winding paths finally end, where the sounds of humans are replaced by the rustling of leaves and the whisper of winds between the pines.
Where the lull of the streams become you and the water that flows from the rocks replenish you. How often does one have this opportunity to immerse themselves in nature's bounty?
Then to top it up, we got a delicious meal that was cooked with some of the wild plants growing in the forest, the people who live around have at least 8 wild species of plants that can be consumed.
From Morels to Fiddle Heads to Wild Strawberries, the diversity is phenomenal, here are a few pictures of the space, we hope we all can strive to protect nature's bounty and find spaces free from the hands of men.
