Hi ,
Someone once told me that “one needs to increase their capacities in order to make the most of the day,” this was said during my stint as a teacher in a school. At that time I scoffed at it, like does that mean just keep working all the time?
A few years down the line, and I have understood the meaning of increasing one’s capacities.
After being a mother of 3, if I don’t increase my capacity I would probably end up anxious, there’s so much to do. Increasing one’s capacity is kind of an expansion of your own skill set, time management, the role of a manager to the janitor.
It’s easier said than done, but the real test is when a 10-month-old is crying, your second child wants you to tell him a story and the eldest needs help with his homework. And just like this life puts you in situations where you can expand yourself..
Personally I have learnt to note down all the things I need to do in a day, and prioritizing them one-by-one. Maintaining equanimity is the key here, and there are times I do get overwhelmed by the situation. This is when I remind myself to take a few deep breaths and regain calm, and say to myself that “This too Shall Pass,” and enjoy the ride.
So in life when we feel muddled up, remember to always try to enjoy what you're doing, find the ‘bliss’, find that one thing in your daily task that brings you joy, and slowly things begin to change for the better.
