A few hours ago, we went for a drive to meet a friend who lives all alone in the remote countryside. It's the monsoon season here and the entire landscape is at a glorious peak of green. The waterfalls streaming down the Western Ghats also known as the Sahyadris, where species of Flora and Fauna are still being discovered.
As I write this, there is an orchestra of frogs in places where water collects in the incessant rain. On our drive we stop the car where the road winds into the forests in the darkest parts, we cut the engine and lights, stop and look out for trees lit up with fireflies, just like Christmas lights but with surreal synchronizations, their own rhythms.
But if we rewind this natural phenomena by a few months, trees loose leaves or shrink in size, there is no green carpet of grass but a parched dry landscape, no insects or bird calls, at the peak of noon you could have temperatures going up to 47 / 116 + degrees c / f. It's hot, the Teak trees that dot the landscape are just huge straight sticks poking out of the ground without leaves.
The change in landscape from the brown hill and mountains is witnessed by those who have the leisure of witnessing it. The sporadic rain with the onset of the monsoon brings respite to the thirst of every living being, as the dry wells begin to slowly fill up again through the season.
Of course there's winter and then something what we call as the October heat, the transition between monsoon and winter which come with their own set of elements. Similarly, across the planet, we individually experience a variety of seasons and levels of intensities.
Now, when we zone in our existence, we can go through multiple seasons through the day, or we may just experience a single season. All seasons are integral, and each one's change of season based on their own human experience. I personally go through most of the seasons in a day, the human experience for me is more so to be alive, I think my heart is in the right place and this is how I experience my world.
Sometimes it's just the little things that increase the intensity of my season, just going for a long drive is enough to experiencing a waterfall within. Sometimes just the raised voices in the house is enough to trigger a dust devil in the peak of summer, within.
We go through these seasons, we bloom, we wilt, we hibernate, survive or thrive, the beauty of the season is in its lesson. Why am I experiencing this season, and what is my rain that awakens the dormant plants or October heat that leads me to my transformation?
