The 12 Chakra System: Can You Feel Them?

Most of us are acquainted with the chakra system that directly maps our spine and may have even explored them from time to time. Traditionally there are seven chakras including the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown.

Whilst cleansing my chakras of late however, I have been noticing myself drawn to new centres that seem to require more attention than the others. Feeling curious, I looked them up only to discover that there is a whole new system out there that correlated with the centres I was being drawn to.

Apart from these additional centres, there appear to be a few other changes you may have been noticing. As you begin to move up into the 4th and 5th dimensions the lower three chakras start to fuse and the throat and heart become one.

As the soul begins to transcend duality, which the Sacral Chakra in particular represents, it has less attachment with the material world therefore fusing these lower centres together. Primal fears are released from the Root chakra, focus on sex and gender from the Sacral, and ego imbalances and projections from the Solar Plexus.

The fusing of the throat and heart chakras is particularly noticeable when you have found your life purpose and become an embodiment of self expression; your whole life becomes your art and you can fully wrap your head around the realization that every word you speak has consequence. You become aware that you are literally expressing your reality with the words you speak; to others as well as yourself.

Here are the other chakras in the 12 chakra system:

Earth Star

The Earth Star chakra is our direct root down in to the earth. It is what fixes us to her and allows us to operate in this reality. It is also our direct connection with the mother principle and if it is cloudy or not fully open it can feed the mother wound; a rejection of the divine feminine.

Our disconnection as a species to this chakra brought about by the consumerist attitudes of modern life are what is eating up earth’s resources. Like a parasite we have been taking without giving back and disrespecting our mother for eons.

What we can do to turn this around is to give back on a personal level. Connect with this chakra by breathing lovingly down into the earth until you find it. Do this in three long deep breaths and then ask how you can serve her.

Cleanse the other chakras and when you reach the crown, let the energy flow down through your body into the Earth Star, giving Gaia energy and protection from the father principle. You become a conduit; a column of white or blue light.

Try to do this throughout the day. It will ground you and give you unlimited energy and peaceful thoughts. Now try a second column – one that sends information to the stars from Gaia. In balancing these two flows of energy; one going up from earth and one coming down to her, you are increasing global consciousness and helping the planet ascend.

Gaia Portal

The Gaia portal is the place where we touch the earth. Unlike the root outside of our bodies that grounds us, it is the place where we have a direct connection with Gaia; that is, through our feet. Problems with the feet can affect our whole being, so it’s important to look after them.

Have reflexology sessions or a regular foot massage or personal routine to show them love. Walk bare-foot as much as possible and if you have problems with weak ankles or posture walk on sand. Feel the energy of the earth move up through your feet and when meditating on the heart chakra send love to your legs and feet and this area where they touch the earth. Movement practices such as dance and Qi Gong are also excellent ways to rebalance this connection.

One Heart Chakra

The One Heart Chakra is the chakra we are probably already opening and connecting with during meditation. The Heart Chakra is located where our own hearts are, and the One Heart is centralized; directly emanating from the spinal column. It is advisable to connect to both separately; honouring both your ‘real’ heart, where any blockages or stuck emotions might reside, and the One Heart, which connects us to the collective love and any wounds we all have.

Letting this warmth circle around the lungs and into the shoulders will begin the fusion of your heart and throat chakras, and warm any grief that has become stuck in the lungs and metal element of the body.

The shoulders are also where we keep responsibility and burdens so these areas are directly connected with our hearts and how we talk to ourselves in the throat chakra. Allowing the energy to flow freely between the two and explore that whole area of the body will release old patterns and align you with a higher dimensional frequency.

Higher Self Portal

The Higher Self Portal, unlike the Gaia Portal is not the physical space where the Crown Chakra resides, but the space a few inches above the head. In meditating on the Crown Chakra you may have moved up here before, and the more you experiment the more you will notice subtle differences in the spaces above your head.

The Higher Self Portal is a portal into the 4th dimension, where we begin to communicate directly with our higher selves and bridge the gap between the conscious us and what we are really capable of. Residing in the Higher Self Portal is well worth experimenting with as we can gain insight into our true power and the control we actually have over our lives. In accessing the Higher Self Portal we can reconnect with our divine potential.

Soul Star

I haven’t included the variations of upper chakras as it can get quite complicated up there, but generally speaking the Soul Star is our direct connection with the father principle. The Soul Star allows us to heal the father wound and enjoy cosmic protection.

Meditating on the Soul Star can also help connect and heal our past life karma and bring clarity to our soul’s patterns. As the true nature of the mind is believed to be sky-like, meditating on this chakra will aid us in any difficult problems we have.

Sending problems that can’t be solved up into this area will help them become answered and moving up here to manifest your true desires can shift your life in miraculous ways. Generally ‘sending rockets’ of intention up into the upper chakras until they reach your inherent divinity will speed up manifestation and explains why there are so many patriarchal religions where prayer is the method of worship.

The Soul Star in conjunction with our ‘intention point’ – located in the fusion point of our heart and throat chakras – is how we manifest our lives. If you are not living the life you want, try exploring these areas and ask questions whilst your focus is there.

Every time you remember in your day, clear your intention point and move up to your Soul Star when in deep meditation. Like the Earth Star this will also increase your sense of belonging – the reason for so much depression in the world – and allow you to begin focusing on your intentions and realigning yourself with the reason you came into this incarnation. Wowser.

There are some differences in the upper chakras in that Soul Star, Spirit, Universal, Galactic and Divine Gateway Chakras is another order suggested but I think the best thing is to experiment for yourself. Some sources state there are as much as 22 in the entire system…

As far as your own personal practice goes it can differ from individual to individual. For those who have experienced trauma and gotten lost in the upper chakras without much grounding it can help to focus more on the lower chakras, especially the Earth Star and Gaia Portal to increase your sense of belonging and rebalance your energy levels.

If you are stuck in a dead-end job cycle and want to explore your potential in more challenging careers you may want to focus on the Higher Self Portal and Soul Star to reconnect with your potential and divine self. Whatever the best way for you, get experimenting.
