In a risk-averse and failure-averse culture, people unconsciously live out fear-based lifestyles at the expense of courageous freedom.
All too often we are curled up in the soft pillowy corner of our comfort zones, too busy sucking on our thumbs to see the glorious wonder and awe that can come from sucking the marrow out of life instead. Which is fine if comfort, security, and safety is all you’re seeking in life; but not so fine if you are also seeking adventure, romance, creativity, and numinous experiences.
Here’s the thing: When we seek to repeat something safe that’s been good enough in the past, there’s the tendency to fall into the Definition of Insanity Trap: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Which can hurt us if we’re seeking to be adventurous, romantic, creative or innovative.
