If you can’t runaway to a cabin in the woods right now, start small. Make a cup of tea and find a sunset to watch. Turn off your phone and read a book in the bath. Go for a drive and blast some great music. Fight for moments of peace in the midst of the crazy. You can do that.

If you Can’t Runaway to a Cabin in the Woods
People Show us Over and Over Again
People show us over and over again exactly who they are, and we look away the first hundred times or so, because it’s easier to look at someone and see what we want to see, instead of what’s really there. That’s okay. But one day you’ll realize that life is too short to keep looking away. Take a long hard look and see what they show you the first time. That’s who they are. Believe it.

The Kindest People are Not Born that Way
The kindest people are not born that way, they are made. They are the souls that have experienced so much at the hands of life, they are the ones who have dug themselves out of the dark, who have fought to turn every loss into a lesson. The kindest people do not just exist – they choose to soften where circumstance has tried to harden them, they choose to believe in goodness, because they have seen firsthand why compassion is so necessary. They have seen firsthand why tenderness is so important in this world.

I was Born with a Soul
I was born with a soul that is way too sensitive for this cold and ugly world, I have always felt things deeply and differently than most people. That has always been my blessing and my curse.

People Talk about Caterpillars becoming Butterflies
People talk about caterpillars becoming butterflies as though they just go into a cocoon, slap on wings, and are good to go. Caterpillars have to dissolve into a disgusting pile of goo to become butterflies. So if you’re a mess wrapped up in blankets right now, keep going.
