“The river is everywhere.” ~ Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
The word prosperity has confused me for some time now. However, I have come to the conclusion that this vague yet loaded word represents something most of us are very much aware of.
It’s something you could attribute to feminine energy, that basically means being in the flow and correctly (or positively) aligned with the laws of the universe.
To some it may mean superstition or witchcraft disguised as a new age philosophy about the law of attraction, and it pretty much is. But it’s nice to know that you can boil down the mechanics of your whole entire life into one neat little word.
Here are 3 places you can look to increase your prosperity, with a few meditations and practices for each:
Nature, the unlimited
Nature is the most prosperous place around. It’s a place devoid of any lack or poverty consciousness; it’s teeming with life and when we align with it, we reactivate our authentic selves.
Whilst walking in the countryside try staring into the hedge or across the field and stop. Take in everything with your senses; notice visuals, sounds and smells. Become entirely present and send the surroundings love.
Focus on your heart chakra and feel it opening or focus on one thing such as a tree and look for things to appreciate about it.
Feel yourself merging with the tree or all of your surroundings. Feel yourself being held and equally appreciated. Keep doing this until you feel that you ‘take in’ or align yourself with the energetic imprint of the earth. Doing this will help you to feel acceptance and a connection to the unlimited prosperity of the divine mother.
You can also do a grounding meditation for healing. If you have experienced trauma in this life or another, part of you may be hanging by a thread some distance from your body and need to be recalled. This fragmentation will block prosperity and general balance and wholeness. You will need to ground yourself, and walking on the earth is a way to do that.
Whenever opportunity presents itself, take your shoes and socks off and walk bare foot; directly on grass, soil or earth. Feel yourself drawing up the energy of the earth and send it love back.
Doing this – having direct skin to skin contact with the earth – will activate your authentic self. Doing it daily will help to shed all pretense and self deceit. If you like working outside or gardening, then this will serve the same purpose.
Family and friends for connection
Focusing on the positive aspects of the people we love will help us to feel even more prosperous and allow the mirror to flow back to us and shine a light on our own attributes. Flowing love in this direction is great for those who find it difficult to connect with others or reach a certain level of intimacy in their relationships.
Each day make it your quest to discover something new to love about someone, even if it’s just the way the old woman on the bus scowls but makes everyone laugh with her outrageousness.
If you notice yourself targeting people from a distance, try taking it to the next step and focusing on your neighbours or people you see informally. You can also do this with family you don’t see so much of or even someone you have fallen out with to increase forgiveness and healing.
Physical objects to transcend our material illusion
Use physical objects; your wallet, your bank statements and your material possessions to remind yourself of your true levels of prosperity.
Flow love and appreciation to each of these objects in order to increase and cleanse their air of lack. Every time you buy something new, welcome it into the house by sending it gratitude and admiration.
You can also send and receive positive vibes to and from money. When you receive it from the ATM or pay someone over the counter with it. You can send appreciation and awareness to the amount of water you use. The list is endless.
General breath exercises will help increase this awareness, as will work or walking meditations. Send gratitude to every room of your house by smudging it with sage or blessing it with a prayer and intention.
Embody everything you do with positive intentions and gratitude. If you do it with the intention to make money it generally doesn’t work. We often discover that meditation makes us more receptive, but that the final key to life is to accompany that receptivity with acceptance.
You can be aware of something, yet if you don’t say yes to it and give back then you’re only completing half of the cycle, and that will get you nowhere. Saying yes to life may seem overwhelming, but just putting yourself in these places will help you relax into prosperity and know it as your own.
Taking action, bit by bit will gradually increase our prosperity, and put us back into the flow of life.
