Dopamine is essentially a neurotransmitter that sends signals between nerve cells or neurons. It regulates a number of things such as: movement, memory, emotional response, pleasure/reward, cognition and behavior, attention, sleep, mood, pain processing and learning.

By boosting Dopamine levels, it allows us to not just feel blissful and joyful but feel motivated to act on our desires.

Known as the ‘motivation molecule,’ it helps keep up the intense focus that’s needed to complete tasks. Our neurochemicals are naturally self-sustaining, but the majority of people today live a stressful lifestyle, and high levels of stress are one of the greatest causes for dopamine depletion.

Here are some ways to get high by boosting Dopamine levels, naturally!

1) Change your diet

Food and mood have been known to influence each other for millennia. A well-balanced and healthy diet goes a long way in your mental well-being. Bananas, watermelon, beets, avocado and apples are great fruits to start with.

Sesame, pumpkin seeds, almonds, oatmeal, lima beans, green leafy vegetables, green tea, wheat germ and fava beans also do the trick. All these are also high in tyrosine, one of the key amino acids used to raise and maintain certain neurotransmitters.

Curcumin, an active ingredient in turmeric crosses the blood-brain barrier and boosts dopamine production. Ginko Biloba, a type of tree leaf, has been used to boost memory and help with fatigue, depression and anxiety. It aids the brain in secreting more dopamine and acetylcholine.

L-theanine, a compound found in Green Tea. Foods high in natural probiotics like yogurt, kefir and raw sauerkraut can also increase dopamine levels.

2) Do a cleanse

Alcohol, tobacco, processed (and large doses of) sugar and other stimulants reduce dopamine levels in the brain. Although coffee is said to increase dopamine levels, but all it does is shoot out a large amount over a period of 3 to 4 hours, leading to depletion of natural levels over time. If it’s too difficult to stop stimulants altogether, ration your intake. Do weekend cleanses.

The mind has a tendency to follow thought loops that cause us great stress and anxiety. Through mindfulness meditation, we can train our minds into removing us from our experiences and into the role of the observer.

As an observer, we do not feel the same negative emotions as we have cut the cord to our ‘ego’ selves or the selves we assigned an identity to. Meditation is used as a tool to quiet the mind, and also improves and regulates levels of dopamine as well as other neurochemicals in our brain.

5) Listen to music

Listening to music activates the same pleasure centers as when you make love or eat a good meal. When you listen to music that really moves you, your brain releases dopamine and immediately you feel a sense of well-being, motivation and inspiration.

We were born to the rhythm of our mother’s heartbeat and expand into a world of symphonies. It does not take a musician’s trained ear to appreciate this and feel connected to it. In fact, just remembering your favorite tune can give you that same rush of upliftment.

6) Nurture your creative side

Human beings are the ultimate conscious creators. Our need to fulfill our creative drives, our experimental nature and natural curiosity, is immense. When we create something, be it a piece of art or cooking, we feel a certain sense of accomplishment.

Similarly, taking on a new challenge can be extremely rewarding too. Dopamine is released every time we do or experience something new and exciting, like starting a new course, learning a new skill set, travelling, trying a new work-out, all lend themselves to that driven feeling.

Adventure sports are so addictive for the exact reason that they evoke a feeling of newness no matter how many times the same action has been performed.

8) Wean off your addictions

Addiction doesn’t limit itself to substance abuse. It could be toward a person or relationships in general, or an irrational routine or action, or to anything for that matter. In fact it can be argued that addicts are not addicted to the substance they’re using, but seeking that dopamine rush.

When we start taking stimulants, our natural secretion gets inhibited so we need more and more of the substance to balance it out. Without that rush, we feel manic, depressed, unstable and hostile. There will also be a pre-existing type of emotional condition like an abusive or non-involved family, to create addict-like behavior.

So the natural thought patterns that do not cause stress did not occur to them. Feelings of self-appreciation, ecstasy and reward are then chased through unhealthy ways of increasing dopamine. In this case, it’s important to fill your life with things that inspire and move you, and to speak positive affirmations to yourself.

9) Play

It is our natural state; the state we came into as babies that formed the building blocks of our life. It’s important to maintain that ability into our adulthood, to find wonder and enjoyment in the moment.

When we play, we are not stuck in the traumas of our past or worries for our future, we are just being joyful in our essence with full focus on the activity at hand. Play a game of ball, scrabble, cards, video-games or whatever makes you happy, with people you love.

Remember that everything we practice is to balance our minds and bodies and not to make a disproportionate rise in dopamine levels. It may feel incredible when we start, but will soon become a crutch, which is why it is important to go about it in a healthy way.

In this highly competitive world, we are constantly being judged based on the amount of possessions and belongings we have, people trying to label you, calculating your total worth based on the quantity and price tag of your material belongings.

From the moment we open our eyes, we are bombarded with information on TV, hoardings on the street, newspapers flooded with majestic advertisements and mediocre content, manipulating our choices, so that you can lead a better life, and ‘buy’ happiness.

People fall into this trap and begin to lead a life of collecting more until they have no place to keep or it goes out of fashion, and then they decide to get rid of it, so they can make place to buy some more.

We get so emotionally worked up that it might get damaged because we’ve spent so much money and time to purchase it. In this madness of collecting, consuming, buying, we don’t realise how attached we’ve become to our possessions that when it’s time to let go, we cling to it for our dear life.

Will this all-absorbing cycle of materialism ever end?

This article is intended to help you let go without clinging to things that ultimately, don’t matter. When you introspect or journey deep within your self, you may realise the uselessness of it all. I am not saying that you must donate all your belongings to a charity, but don’t let it control you.

1) Realise you are not your possessions

Counting your worth based on how much you own is like a horse with blinkers who can only see in one direction and can’t look beyond a certain point. Personally, I have seen people who have so “much”, but deep down they are empty and it’s eating them up.

The only way to fill that void, that emptiness, is by collecting things, and the only way they find a release is by taking care of “things” that don’t matter. Research suggests that materialistic people are less happier than others and are less satisfied with life.

2) Declutter your physical space

Research has shown when your home or work environment is cluttered, it restricts your ability to focus, limits your brain’s ability to process information and makes you distracted. Removing clutter from your surroundings will not only make you more productive but also less irritable and will boost your ability to process information as effectively as possible.

Start with clothes for example, get rid of the ones you are never going to wear again. Move on to the next shelf, don’t think so hard, if you haven’t used it for so long, what are the chances you will use it again?

Understand the positive effect it will have on your mind. You will begin to experience a sense of lightheartedness and freedom as you declutter the layers of obstruction.

3) Think twice if you really need that thing

Have you fallen for the advertisement that keeps flashing all around you and it has managed to catch your attention? The next moment you find yourself purchasing that very thing.

Calm down, take a step back and think if you really need that in your life, or is it based on an emotional response to an advertisement. If its the second option then you might want to reconsider your decision and make a wise choice.

4) Be grateful for what you have

Our mind is constantly pre-occupied with thoughts of things we don’t have, or we should have bought, and experiences we are missing out on.

Instead of focusing your energy on “If I had this I would have done that”, take a moment and be grateful for the things you do have, and you will realise how fortunate you actually are.

When we start taking things for granted we deviate from the present moment and stop enjoying the simple things in life, which leads to the last point in this article.

5) Happiness lies in simplicity

As they say, the best things in life are free and taking a pause and focusing on the small things around you will make you happier. For instance, a child is happy with the most simplest of things he spots, like a caterpillar chomping the leaf or a ladybug resting on the ground, will captivate him.

He doesn’t need expensive toys to feel happy, but its the parents who feel the need to purchase such toys. In fact too many toys prevent kids from fully developing their creativity and imagination.

The simple and small pleasures of life are more gratifying than one expensive phone for instance. When you break the cycle of mindless consumption, you will learn to appreciate what you have and feel satisfied in life, at least make an attempt!

Can we Communicate Through Our Dreams?

People have the capability to communicate telepathically with one another while asleep and dreaming. This phenomenon, known as Dream Telepathy, is much more common than we think and surpasses the boundary of coincidence.

Can we Communicate Through Our Dreams

If we stop to consider how many times we’ve woken up from a dream about an old friend who suddenly calls later on, or hear a sound in our sleep right before it manifests physically, we may start to see that communication is not merely restricted to words.

From fortune-tellers, animal psychics to physicists, all can vouch for the fact that information transmits beyond all channels of our regular sensory perception. The dream state has been studied in context to telepathy and precognition exactly because it seems to exceed the realm of our five senses.

The first person to use the phrase ‘dream telepathy’ was Sigmund Freud in “The Uncanny and the Occult.” Based on several patients’ accounts, he comes to the conclusion that there is a strong possibility that telepathy is a real phenomenon.

However, he doesn’t restrict its occurrence to just dream states. But he was quick to discard anything that seemed supernatural, he said, “Since dreams themselves have always been mysterious things, they have been brought into intimate connection with the other unknown mysteries.”

Carl Jung, initially his student, was of the opinion that the conscious and unconscious mind came together in our dreams, a process he called ‘individuation’. In this dreamscape, the bridge between the individual mind and the collective unconscious became activated.

Can we communicate through our dreams?

The Experiments with Montague Ullman and Stanley Krippner

In the 60’s, an American doctor named Montague Ullman along with Dr. Stanley Krippner began to further explore the potential for telepathy in dreamers. For this, they required a control group with ‘senders’ and ‘receivers’.

The randomly selected sender and receiver would meet for a very short period of time right before being separated into different rooms to sleep in. An envelope enclosed with a picture or drawing was kept in the room of the sender, and in order to ensure secrecy of the topic, the sender could only get the envelope before it was time to sleep.

They would then concentrate or ‘send’ the message by visualizing it appearing before the receiver. It had been observed through years of research that people were able to remember their dreams if awakened during Rapid Eye Movement sleep (R.E.M.). Hence the experimenter awakened the receiver soon after R.E.M. sleep so as to take a dream report.

On one particular occasion, all senders were given a print of a popular painting by Edgar Degas known as “School of Dance”. Depicted in it is a dance school filled with young girls and women. The results were astounding.

According to Krippner the receivers reported dreams that nearly exactly fit the description, it included phrases like “I was in a class made up of maybe half a dozen people, it felt like a school,” and “There was one little girl that was trying to dance with me.”

Another major event occurred on 15th March, 1970. This session took place interestingly at a Holy Rounders rock concert. The entire audience attending the concert were selected to be telepathic senders.

An artist named Jean Millay was to prepare the senders on how and what to visualize, with the help of a group of artists that created light shows for concerts. After giving the senders a simple set of verbal instructions, the light show began.

Color projectors were used to project on a large screen a film about eagles and their nesting habits as well as various other birds including ones in well-known mythology. The film was screened right around the time Holy Modal Rounders were playing their song “If you want to be a bird”.

There were about five volunteer receivers at the time, located within a hundred mile radius from the senders. All the receivers were aware of where the concert was taking place and were instructed to start recording their dreams by midnight as that was when the visualizations would be sent to them.

Sure enough, the receivers reported shockingly similar visions. One of them by the name of Helen Andrews saw “something mythological, like a griffin or a phoenix.” Many other participants had impressions of snakes, grapes and “an embryo in flames”.

Richie Havens, a singer and a recording artist who also participated, reported visualizing “a number of sea gulls flying over water.”

The pilot session with The Grateful Dead

In a pilot session, Ullman and Krippner got in members of the acclaimed rock band Grateful Dead. Six concerts were involved in this study, all held at the Capitol Theatre of New York. Approximately 45 miles away from it was the Mainmonides Medical Centre’s dream laboratory.

This time there were two participants – one named Malcolm Bessent and another named Felicia Parise. Malcolm spent the night at the laboratory with electrodes attached to his head to monitor brain activity, while Felicia slept in her own bed.

At a particular time, the members of Grateful Dead would discuss the random art print and ask the audience to ‘send’ the images. However, this experiment differed as the audience was given the name and location of Bessent and not Parise.

It was speculated that Bessent’s dreams would demonstrate more correspondences because “psycho-physiological monitoring made possible a more complete collection of his dream activity”; and the transmitters were aware of his name and location and therefore could direct the messages more clearly.

Findings

“On several other nights, Mr. Bessent’s dream reports demonstrate what the judges considered to be a high degree of correspondence with the art print. On 20 February 1971, “Philosophy in the Boudoir” by the French artist Magritte was randomly selected; it portrays a headless woman in a transparent gown.

Mr. Bessent dreamed about “a little girl’s doll” and a “fantasy…, a card around my neck”. None of Ms. Parise’s transcript – target correspondences was as dramatic despite the fact that she had made high scores in other dream telepathy experiments.”

They also found that:
– The greater the number of senders, the more powerfully visions would manifest.
– The more multi-sensory the stimuli was (visual, auditory, olfactory etc.), greater was the degree of accuracy in the dreams of the receiver.

Although the phenomena of dream telepathy has been recorded for eons in folklore and mythology, this research is among the first of its kind to study it within a controlled scientific context. To probe into this for ourselves we could keep dream journals to write in every time we feel some dreams to be more meaningful over others.

Those dreams provide great insight and have the scope to develop our intuitive faculties. In order to open telepathic channels of communication in our dreams, we could start by telling ourselves that we would like to communicate something specific with a certain person before we sleep.

Messages may not always make sense but since they are coming from deep within the realm of the unconscious (whether individual or collective), they will always have meaning and value. Ultimately we are all connected through a powerful energetic web.

As we begin to strengthen our intuition, we become more and more aware of these connections and make use of the information we have access to through them.

Three Ugly Truths that Will Piss You Off

Let’s admit something here at the outset: the term “awake” has become too cliché. It’s been tossed around cyberspace so much that even its platitudes have platitudes. But it is effective. It’s easier than saying, “no longer ignorant to deception.”

Or, “popping the blue pill was just too boring.” Or, “I grew tired of wearing the Eye-guards of Culture passed down by my parochial forefathers.” Sure, it’s a tired cliché of a word, but it’s one that packs an alarm clock and a slap across the face. I used it in Four Hard Truths that Will Jolt You Awake, the article of which this article is an addendum to.

Maybe the three truths in this article are not news to you. Maybe you are already “awake.” Maybe not. Either way, it’s important information that cannot be reiterated enough. If we are going to evolve into a healthier species, then we need to work on finding solutions to our unhealthy actions.

But before we can work on healthier solutions, we need to pinpoint exactly what those unhealthy actions are. Here are three of them, laid out in all their inglorious detail.

As Gloria Steinem said, “The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.”

1) Police instigate conflict

“The primary purpose of the police is to enforce the delusions of those with lots of pieces of green paper. Those without the green papers generally buy into these delusions almost as quickly and completely as those with. These delusions carry with them extreme consequences in the real world.” ~ Derrick Jensen

avote3 Police seemingly mean well. The problem is that they “mean well” through the perpetuation of an unhealthy system. They “mean well” by upholding the laws of a fundamentally unsustainable mode of human governance.

They “mean well” within an extremely corrupt box where the wealthy are protected and the poor are oppressed. George Orwell said it in simple terms, “The capitalist society is a police society where the number one goal is the protection of upper class property.”

Ours is a system of disorder where crime creates business. A preposterous as it sounds, we have over 2 million people in prisons run by private corporations that trade their stock on Wall Street based upon how many people they have in jail.

It employs police and guards, generates high-value commodities for security, and stimulates the profit-gain of privately owned prisons. The only thing more profitable, in our economic system of disorder, is war.

As Robert Anton Wilson advised, “On a planet that increasingly resembles one huge maximum security prison, the only intelligent choice is to plan a jail break.”

The thing is: it’s not necessarily a policing problem, it’s a system’s problem. But when police are sworn to uphold a problematic system, then you’re bound to have problematic police who instigate conflict in order to create revenue for the problematic system. They’re just doing their job by following corrupt orders and upholding the laws of a flawed and violent system.

The problem is: people (including cops) blindly and ignorantly believe that the violent system is the only way, or even the best way, that it can be done. But as Mark Passio said, “Order followers are the people that keep the system of slavery in place.”

So the solution is simple, albeit risky and filled with dangerous consequences: Stop following the orders of the unhealthy, unsustainable, violent system. It begins with police not instigating violence in order to create revenue for the state. It ends when the police wake up, blur the thin blue line, and hold each other accountable.

2) Elections are Auctions (or worse)

We must be able to admit that the election-based system (and especially representative elections) of appointing leadership has failed miserably. Just take one glance into the Republican camp and you’ll see the Frankenstein monster Trump rearing his ugly orange head, vomiting hate, violence, and lies through narcissistic, racist, ignorant, misogynistic, and bigoted bully tactics.

He’s a spoon-fed baby of a man who only has money because he was born into wealth. He represents everything that’s wrong with America. Take a glance into the Democratic camp and you’ll see the same old Military Industrial Complex rhetoric being spewed by Killary Clinton from her plutocratic pulpit backed by greedy corporations from Wall Street calling themselves “persons” who are backed by even greedier corrupt banksters with their vampire-tentacles in every country’s pie.

Bernie may be a tiny ray of hope, but he is still a career-politician-ray-of-hope who thinks inside the box of a very corrupt system, and change from within has a ridiculously low probability of success.

It seems Lao Tzu’s words never applied so much as now: “The court is corrupt, the fields are overgrown with weeds, the granaries are empty; yet there are those dressed in fineries, with swords at their sides, filled with food and drink, and possessed of too much wealth. This is known as taking the lead in robbery. Far indeed is this from the Way.”

avote But there’s another side to this ugly election coin that’s even more difficult for us to admit: we the citizenry are lazy, apathetic, and ignorant to how civic power and politics work.

We’re mostly ignorant to systems of control that attempt (and apparently succeed) at keeping everything the way it is, inefficient with a controlled obsolescence, so that We the People keep buying things we don’t need so that the rich can keep auctioning elections and buying laws to keep the poor oppressed.

Worst of all, we keep waiting for some bloated windbag in power to attempt to change things through petitions and corrupt elections. We need a lifestyle change: a Psycho-spiritual-political-cultural overhaul.

As I wrote in No President in 2016, “There is a third option. We can “elect” to think outside the ballot box. We can “elect” to take money out of politics. We can “elect” to have a complete system reboot, to include, especially, the electoral system.”

Indeed, we can “elect” to take the auction out of election. We can “elect” to be proactive citizens who learn how to lead ourselves, and through such self-leadership, discover authentic leadership, the kind of leadership that doesn’t create followers, nor even voters, but even more leadership.

There is never only one solution. But one potential solution could be the implementation of a sortition-based system of appointing leadership, with assembly powers to vote out “bad seeds” – a lottery that balances out a system of governance through simple probability, while empowering citizenry and preventing power from corrupting. Let’s do away with elections (auctions) altogether.

Let’s bring back sortition through lottery by way of assembly, forcing everyone into proactive citizenry. Sortition would level the playing field, keep power from becoming entrenched, and educate the masses, while also maintaining a healthy egalitarian ethos. It’s worth a shot. Sure, it’s easier said than done.

But as Spinoza said, “All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare.”

3) Wars are for profit and control

avote2Let’s stop kidding ourselves. The Military Industrial Complex is a violent, 800-pound, war-profiting gorilla beating its chest over all the oil turned money in its enormous clinched fists. It’s a silver-backed, terrorist-generating war machine with an USA/UK flag tattooed on its a*s.

But we took too long to acknowledge it, and now it is 800-pounds of fury, reeking of drone strikes, flattening countries, and shitting out plutocracy disguised as democracy.

Gone are the days when we can’t see the 800-pound gorilla through the smoke and mirrors. Gone are the days when the “war on terror” isn’t seen as the smokescreen that it is. We now realize that such a war can never come to an end. It can only end by becoming non-profitable for the military industrial complex.

And the only way it becomes non-profitable is by changing the way the economic system functions. And the only way we change the economic system is through proactive citizenry in solidarity against entrenched, power-mongering, plutocratic politics. As Malala Yousafzai said, “With guns, you can kill terrorists. With education, you can kill terrorism.”

The U.S. has spent roughly $21 trillion on military defense since WWII. It’s been estimated that $17 billion per year would provide adequate food, water, education, health and housing for every single person on the planet. By these figures, war is 20.5 times more expensive than lifting the entire world out of poverty.

The money saved from cutting military spending can be used toward education, healthcare, housing, and environmental cleanup, as well as provide food and clean water to impoverished nations and people.

This will allow people to rise up out of slavery and join in solidarity to create a new world that benefits both nature and human beings. War is not peace! No matter how many times you hear an Orwellian politician full of hot air and bipartisan claptrap say otherwise.

As it stands, we are a militarized corporate republic that pedals plutocracy as democracy. Militarism is instrumentalism applied to nationalism: it is a principled rejection of eco-centric, soul-centric, egalitarian and anarchic freedom.

When a $1.5 Trillion F-35 Fighter Jet is paid for, and then doesn’t work, you know that you live in a militarized plutocratic system that would rather profit off war and death than use the money to pay for education, health care, and end poverty. It’s basically entropy versus life, and as long as the military industrial complex is allowed to be bloated and overreaching then entropy will win.

In closing, Chris Hedges hits the nail on the head: “Play by the rules and we lose. Resistance will come from those willing to breach police barricades. Resistance will mean jail time and direct confrontation. Resistance will mean physically disrupting the corporate machinery. Resistance will mean severing ourselves from the dominant culture to build small, self-sustaining communities. This resistance will be effective only when we refuse to do what we are told, when we turn from a liberal agenda of reform to embrace a radical agenda of revolt.”

The Telepathic Connection Between Animals and Humans

Cosmos and Mana, our 6-year-old Indian dogs, patiently wait for our return at the gate. It’s only been an hour since we were away to the market to buy supplies, but the ‘welcoming dance’ (the frantic jumping around and sounds) we received at the gate makes it look like ages have passed since we were gone.

The thrill and the joy, not to mention the innumerable licks we get, no matter whether we reciprocate or not, always makes me wonder how do they do that?

How is it possible to have such unconditional love for someone, and no matter what they are always there to put a smile on your face? A valuable lesson for us to learn from our four-legged friends.

Animals and humans share this deep connection incomparable to any other relationship one might have. In fact, dogs were the first species to be domesticated by humans — and vice versa of course, at least 32,000 years ago.

They have this uncanny knack of sensing your vibe whether you are excited, sad, depressed, or angry; they can read your thoughts and mind. Like for example, when it’s bath time, Cosmos tries his best to run away from us because he hates to bathe, and he just knows when we are coming to leash him.

He knows which stranger to bark at (possibly he can see their aura or sense their intentions) and which ones are our friends. This connection runs much deeper than we think.

Telepathic connection

Rupert Sheldrake in his book, “Dogs That Know Their Owners are Coming Home” talks about the telepathic connection between humans and animals, particularly dogs.

He documented several cases that showed dogs and cats anticipating the return of their owners by waiting at a door or window; anticipation of them going away; the anticipation of being fed; cats disappearing when their owners intend to take them to the vet; dogs knowing when their owners are planning to take them for a walk; and animals that get excited when their owner is on the telephone, even before the telephone is answered.

Sheldrake explained this further, “When a dog is strongly bonded to its owner, this bond persists even when the owner is far away and is, I think, the basis of telepathic communication. I see telepathy as a normal, not paranormal, means of communication between members of animal groups.”

Personally I have experienced some of the unexplained behaviour; like our dogs know when we are going away or traveling for days. They start to look sad and gloomy and won’t respond to us when we call them, or they know when we are going to take them to the fields for a walk, they patiently wait for us to open the gate. These incidents are something which perhaps cannot be justified by science, but was surely felt within.

Sheldrake also documents animals’ abilities to sense an impending catastrophe; he mentioned the devastating tsunami that struck Indonesia, during which animals of every species fled the coastline and desperately raced for higher ground.

The lifesavers

Dogs are also known to have saved the lives of their guardian. Few real life stories show pet dogs being able to detect tumors/cancer in their guardian by alerting them or nuzzling them that something was wrong and required the attention of the guardian. Due to their robust sense of smell, dogs have the ability to sniff out cancer.

Typically, Labradors and Working Spaniels are trained as cancer detection dogs as they have good noses and about 30% of their brain is dedicated to analyzing odor, including the minute smells associated with many cancers.

Everything is connected to everything else

The relationship we share with our dogs goes beyond just giving commands or taking them for walks, there are moments when a single gaze is enough to communicate in an unspoken language. When your bond with an animal is strong, sometimes even the thought of a command is enough for the animal to respond to it.

When our son was just a toddler and exploring his surroundings, our dog Mana always stayed with him whenever we weren’t around or in the house. She made sure he was doing fine; our son is 5 years old now and shares a very special bond with her.

It’s a heart-warming experience to see them play together, a true reflection of purity and innocence, which we, adults, have lost with the deeply ingrained layers of conditioning and beliefs.

There was another instance when during my pregnancy I slipped on a mossy step while taking Cosmos for a walk, and he instantly lifted his paw in a way to comfort me, like his way of asking me, “are you ok?”

My husband, Clyde, had an intimate moment with an Oriental Garden Lizard. The little fellow had fallen into a dry pool and couldn’t get out. He used a bamboo stick to help him get out, but the lizard kept running away. Finally, Clyde intuitively communicated with him and said that he was trying to help him and that he just had to sit on the stick.

After another failed attempt, finally the lizard sat on the stick, and the coolest part is after being rescued he sat there for a moment without running away. Clyde asked him for permission to touch him, and as soon as his finger felt the lizard’s rough scale, the lizard ran away. An experience like this shows that we have a much larger connection with nature than what we’re aware of.

When you tune in to this space and feel the love for everything around you, you suddenly realize how everything is interconnected and that we are all part of nature.
