It’s Dark because You are Trying Too Hard. Lightly Child, Lightly.

It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. I was so preposterously serious in those days, such a humourless little prig. Lightly, lightly – it’s the best advice ever given me. When it comes to dying even. Nothing ponderous, or portentous, or emphatic. No rhetoric, no tremolos, no self-conscious persona putting on its celebrated imitation of Christ or Little Nell. And of course, no theology, no metaphysics. Just the fact of dying and the fact of the clear light. So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly my darling, on tiptoes and no luggage, not even a sponge bag, completely unencumbered.

Hard Times are Often Blessings in Disguise

0

Hard times are often blessings in disguise. Let go and let life strengthen you. No matter how much it hurts, hold your head up and keep going. This is an important lesson to remember when you’re having a rough day, a bad month, or a crappy year. Truth be told, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your spirit needs most. Your past was never a mistake if you learned from it. So take all the crazy experiences and lessons and place them in a box labelled “Thank You.”

Make a Commitment to Yourself to Create the Best Possible Present Moment

Make a commitment to yourself to create the best possible present moment in every moment. If you do that, you’re already guaranteed a great future because your only commitment is to the present moment, and your future is just a string of present moments.

Walk Away from People who put You Down

Walk away from people who put you down. Walk away from fights that will never be resolved. Walk away from trying to please people who will never see your worth. The more you walk away from things that poison your soul, the healthier you will be.

Forgive Yourself First. Release the Need to Replay a Negative Situation

0

Forgive yourself first. Release the need to replay a negative situation over and over again in your mind. Do not become a hostage to your past by always reviewing and reliving your mistakes. Do not remind yourself of what should have, could have or would have been. Release it and let it go. Move on. You can’t change the past, but you can determine that your past will not define your present, or dictate your future. Forgive your former self…for the way you may have sabotaged your present options. Recognize that the ability to create a new life lies in the ability to forgive yourself first and make peace with your past. You have greatness within you!
