There is not enough written on the subject of self-gratification in my opinion, particularly in regards to spiritual sex. On the mass media platform and in the world of cultural narrative being single is a dirty word; another avenue with which to shame and control the masses.

Either you’re in a relationship and bogged down by the model of monogamy (essentially unhappy), or you’re single and happy but an easy target for the consumer model to rinse you of all dignity, self empowerment and freedom.

If you are single you are told you’re empty; without; lacking and as love and sex rule in all music, fashion and broadcasting businesses (and are sold as the ‘highest’ state of bliss you’re able to obtain on this plane of existence), then being single and empowered equates being independent of that system.

What if, for a moment, we imagined what the world was like without this constant diatribe of distraction mass media burbles and reminded ourselves of who we really are?

What if, just for one moment, you were reminded that as a single you actually had the power to create new models of love and – if only you weren’t drugged time and time again by the pressures this consumerist society imposes upon you – you would feel empowered by that knowledge?

As Esther Perel says, ‘what if divorcees were the real idealists of society?’ And we all know the 18-25 bracket are as idealist as they get. So now we know what a flock of self empowered sexually liberated idealists look like to the system, we can understand why sexuality is so manipulated and abused by society. Because it is power. The pursuit of love doesn’t have to be sordid and base; in fact it should be entirely the opposite.

Being sexually liberated does not mean having multiple partners and bastardising the sanctity of marriage. Being sexually liberated means respecting yourself enough to know your own desires and honour them accordingly.

In recognizing that we are human and, in the same way we have a unique imprint or personality, we can recognize that we each have a unique sexual imprint. And that unique sexual imprint should be allowed full expression and free reign in order to retain health and uphold our fantastically unique self image.

Masturbation can become a spiritual practice. Instead of letting in the shame and belittlement of mass media, we can build a home for ourselves. By creating a nest of self-love around ourselves and loving ourselves inside and out, we can swim in the knowledge that other people are a bonus but are by no means essential.

In precisely the same way meditation does, self-gratification connects us with our core; it grounds and nurtures us, cleansing our chakras and sends out a message to the universe that we are operating on a high frequency.

This then attracts a high frequency partner to us, should we so desire them. We may not, being perfectly happy where we are thank you. Just kidding, but we will definitely appreciate that person, or persons more now that we know they’re a bonus to our core self-loving single practice.

Time may be a restricting factor, but if we purposefully set aside the time to honour and love ourselves, then we’ll reap the delicious and plentifully rippling rewards.

Setting the scene means setting aside a full night a week (or more) to let yourself off the hook and enjoy your own company. A lot of what self-love looks like is giving yourself the space – or holding the space – for yourself. That means giving yourself a holiday. Doing a short meditation to start is an excellent way to begin that connection.

Take three deep breaths or breathe until your breath is in balance and you are beginning to leave all that mind chatter from the day behind, focusing in. Listening to external sounds or the sound of silence and the whole will lift you onto a higher frequency and set the intention that this time is to be spent in the higher love.

This simple yet effective opening to your practice will channel it into the correct timeline and lift you above that shameful projecting the media have tried to pull you under. Arousal and visualization

I actually believe fantasy should be avoided if possible when self-loving, as it removes the focus from you onto another. This in the world of attraction attracts more fantasizing, which then has the potential to keep you permanently in a bubble of private fantasy and removed from any positive interactions with yourself or potential lovers.

In staying rooted in the now yet visualizing general images that uphold the frequency of loving and honouring yourself will add to the process rather than hinder it. Every time you sense you are close to climaxing, go back to the breath or whatever your chosen anchor in the now is. Slough through any mental chatter that has crept up (you may also reflect on any negative self-talk that has entered the space) and centre yourself again. In the same way Tantra is practiced, enjoy the journey and channel more love and attention into it.

You could even go and have a shower or a sensual bath in the interlude, or drink a specially prepared drink such as herbal tea or champagne. You could even, if you’re getting really into this, draw out the practice over days, even weeks.

Although remember you’ll be in a state of arousal to one degree or another and therefore shouldn’t operate heavy machinery. But seriously, once you make this a regular practice and have allowed the energy concentrated at the groin area shift into the heart then you’ll be able to integrate it into your whole day if you so wish.

This will be a slow but steady process and will literally enlighten and enthral you dependent on how far you wish to take the exploration. By shifting the energy into upper chakras you are transmuting energy, therefore serving your wider community as well as yourself.

This makes this practice all the more fascinating, as you have the ability to open up new chapters in your love-making. Your action has the potential to affect the whole, and you can take this practice to new worlds. Experiment by first shifting the energy you have built up and climaxing through your Sacral chakra.

See how that feels; is it different? Are You Over-Spiritualizing Everything?

You’ve probably met someone, or maybe you’ve been this person at some point or another, that has a spiritual reason behind everything that happens in life.

“Oh you can’t seem to manifest abundance? It must be because you have blockages in one of your chakras,” “You constantly are running in to setbacks in life? Oh that must be because you are still clearing karma from your past life,” are things we often hear people saying.

It’s almost as if the more we dig deep into the vaults of metaphysical topics, the more reasons we uncover for why things aren’t going like we want them to. Suddenly, we are spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars trying to get our chakras balanced and our past life karma cleared.

But is all of this really necessary? On one hand one could argue that, yes, energy is a very real thing and until we get to the energetic root of a “problem” we will find ourselves in a cycle that brings us to one similar situation after another so that we can have opportunities to heal that energetic root once and for all.

For those that are in touch with life beyond the five senses they know that clearing blockages out of an energy field is a very real thing that can have lasting impact on our lives.

However, on the other hand we must come to a point on our path where we are able to discern whether or not our spiritual process is actually keeping us stuck in a painful or toxic circumstance longer than is required due to our insatiable need to diagnose the spiritual ailment that has brought us to that particular situation.

Is it possible that our thirst for an intricate solution is actually inhibiting us from seeing the simple answer that is right in front of our faces?

What so many of us fail to realize is that the Universe, God (whatever you want to call source) is fulfilling it’s desire of living as a person named whatever our name is perceiving itself through our eyes, just as we think we are a person attempting to fulfill his/her dreams and goals by looking to the Universe for answers.

What this means is, the Universe wants our happiness and success just as much as we want it, because it IS us. An entity that WANTS us to succeed isn’t going to set up a bunch of random and difficult roadblocks for us just for fun. The Universe isn’t stupid. It is going to attempt to move us through our life in the easiest and most effortless way possible.

With that being said, are there energetic blockages that must be cleared in order evolve? Yes. Are we going to find ourselves in situations that are attempting to unravel our limited belief systems that are preventing us from living our most fulfilling reality?

Yes. Will some of these situations be unplanned and/or painful? Yes.  But our limited human perception is not the one that needs to keep track of all of that.

This is where the ever intelligent Universe comes in and dictates the rhyme and reason behind why things go the way they go, and this force never makes a mistake. Point blank, if it’s happening, it’s supposed to be happening.

Most of the time, we won’t know why. From our limited perspective, the only thing we need to be aware of is whatever is happening in the present moment holds the answer to so many of our concerns and worries.

Rest assured that all information that is needed to live this exact moment is within and available to you. The moment more insight is required, like magic, it will appear in your life.

Simplicity is key

The way we feel about something is the number one indicator of whether or not said thing is meant for us, or meant for us to leave. Unfortunately, so many of us over-spiritualize toxic relationships or life situations and rather than walking away from someone who simply doesn’t make us happy, we internalize everything and begin to blame ourselves for someone else’s unsavory behavior.

‘What have I done to attract this?” We may find ourselves asking. Or even, “what terrible traits am I seeing in them that I am not seeing in myself?” Soon years are being spent in a toxic partnership or at a job that isn’t making us happy, simply because we are trying to figure out what is ‘wrong’ with us to have manifested such a thing.

And while yes it can be true that we meet people or are in partnerships that teach us something about ourselves or catalyze something within us that needs to be acknowledged for healing purposes, long periods of time spent in these types of emotional states are never healthy for anyone involved.

The simplest solution that the universe is always trying to relay to us, is if it makes you happy, joyful and is effortless than it’s good for you. If it continuously makes you feel sad, angry, or frustrated it may be time to move on to something else.

So if you are like most people, and find it hard to just pick up and walk away from a job or a long-term relationship, this is where the universe prompts us to go within and reflect on what fear based belief systems are we holding on to that are keeping us stuck in a situation that is making us feel anything other than happy.

Don’t make life harder than it needs to be

overimage5What the Universe is most likely trying to get through to most of us at any given moment is this: don’t make things harder on yourself than they need to be. It is not up to you to solve the riddle behind every energetic block.

It is not up to you know exactly what happened in your thousands of past lives that could be responsible for you attracting the wrong type of relationships.

It is not up to you to diagnose yourself and others and tell everyone you meet what is ‘wrong’ with you or ‘wrong’ with them, especially if no one has even asked. It is only up to you to love. To accept every thought, emotion, person, situation, and perceived problem in your life as another manifestation of source that it is, accept it and love it.

I think most of us would be surprised to see that if we stopped trying to solve our lives and instead experienced them, we would actually open up and allow an intelligence much higher than our mind to move through us and move us to the next fulfilling possibility that is in line for us to experience. No questions asked.

For some, pain acts as a wake-up call; for others, pain represents a continuous pattern that seems to lead nowhere. No matter where you are in your life right now, pain has completely changed your mental and emotional setup.

We are wired to go into the direction of pleasure, but no matter how hard we try to avoid discomfort, we seem to bump into it almost every step of the way. Here are a few reasons for why this happens:

This life-changing decision gets us closer to what is authentic inside but also dissolves the coping mechanisms we have used so far for survival.

This process releases tension and repressed emotions and expands what we perceive as the limits of the self. As a result, agony arises. But this pain is not something that came out of the blue, it is something that was already there, skilfully masked by distraction and conventionality.

We resist change. Defending the comfort zone where everything is safe and apparently under control, is something that many people embrace. But in doing so, we defy the purpose of being.

We cannot expand in defensiveness, and desperately trying to maintain our world as we think it should be, brings not only disappointment but also a great deal of pain.

When you are not at ease, this doesn’t mean you’re off track. Pain is an indicator that something inside yourself has shifted and that it is time to take action so you can align your emotional space to your heartfelt desire. No matter your current situation, here are 8 tips to recover from emotional pain:

Stay Aware

When going through a difficult period in your life, stay as much as possible in the present moment. Honour your pain in such a way that allows it to manifest. If there’s no way to avoid pain, the key to freedom is to mindfully go through it. Suffering shows you how to reach yourself again, and ignoring what causes you pain will eventually make things worse. You don’t need to handle everything at once. Just create a space within yourself where self-observance can bloom, because no amount of pain can survive for a long time in awareness.

Be patient


Patience is more than a virtue, it is a pacifier. The more you want to get rid of pain, the easier it is for it to crawl back in. If you cannot accept what’s going on, let life be the medicine. Take small steps each day towards recovery. Spontaneous physical, mental or emotional healing is not unheard of.

Do not try harder

Try less. Try less until your attempts transform into a natural recovery. When you force yourself to overcome a setback, you add another layer of trauma on top of the initial pain. Letting go is not easy, but it is the shortest path to joy.

Stop moving in circles

Pain is like a confined space that gets tighter and tighter each time you want to break free. Instead of focusing on the emotional claustrophobia, practice tapping (EFT) to gain relief from the distress and painful memories or even conscious breathing is effective. Your breath opens up the spaces within yourself that have been flooded with suffering, and pain cannot thrive in an expansive environment.

Validate yourself

What you feel is real. Give yourself permission to grieve, to question, to rest. You gain nothing by throwing stones at yourself. Stay with your pain for as long as it takes; eventually, it will fade and make room for the teaching you’ve been waiting for. Remember that nothing is random.

Do the things that make you feel a little bit better

You may feel like taking some days off from work. Do that. You may want to spend a whole week in bed or to visit an old friend that lives abroad. Acknowledge your impulses and see where they come from. Get in touch with what you want and act on it.

Look at your life

Travel through the land of your memories as a spectator. Remain detached yet attentive. Think about the events that once caused you harm and, more importantly, look at what followed those events. Pain is related to personal and spiritual growth. Journeying within is more like a treasure hunt than a walk in the park. Nevertheless, the gifts it uncovers are priceless.

Hold on until forgiveness comes

Forgiving others for hurt, abandonment, betrayal and everything else starts with self-forgiveness. Abiding in peace is not easily acquired, but once you embark on this healing voyage, things will start to fall into place. Until you reach your destination, go towards the people and experiences that give you meaning. Do not distract yourself from whatever you are feeling but choose a way to make your pain conscious.

Complete recovery after a traumatic event starts with your availability and intention. We were not designed to marinate in suffering for extended periods of time. Most of us do that because we don’t know there is always a way out of pain and into the self.

How to Read the Vibration You are Emitting and Change it in 3 Easy Steps

Nikola Telsa wasn’t kidding when he famously hinted that to understand the universe you needed to think in terms of frequency, vibration and energy.

This article is not an exploration of the scientific aspects of frequency, but an exploration of the practical approaches we can take; first to discover, and then to experiment with the frequency we are emitting in order to manifest the life we want.

Welcome to a journey of intense self realization that will require the acceptance of personal sovereignty and the insistent pursuit of, and desire for personal integrity.

So we can break down the enquiry into two easy steps: first to uncover or expose ourselves to the truth of the vibration we are currently emitting, and secondly to shift it to one we would rather be.

The latter will potentially take the rest of our lives, but then that’s half the fun, isn’t it? What we will find is that as soon as we go from here to there, we will discover knowledge that will inform us further and possibly change our perspective of what we do want, which might not be what we imagined in the first place. That’s the fun part.

In this way we might better understand depression, as a resistance of this process; we so fiercely resist, terrified of what perceived mistakes we might make on the way to arriving at the conclusion of what we want, that we remain immobile.

But in this state of resistance, we forget the paradox; we must get it wrong to ultimately get it right.

One: Uncovering the frequency

Your outer world reflects your inner one, but this huge clue is still so easy to ignore, especially when you are not ready to change your whole life. Better change one thing at a time and the rest will be pulled; tornado-like, in along with it.

So first you will want to discover what area you would like to change. This in itself could take a few months of contemplation; feeling around in your energetic field and vibrational patterns. A great practice is to ask yourself questions to test the truth of the response. Am I ready for a relationship? Yes (feels untrue). Why not? What’s holding me back?

Another way is to feel around for what you do want, using the outer/inner world framework as a guide. For example; say you have a terrible laptop, a hunk of junk that crashes on most occasions. Then imagine what sort of machine you’d like to have; a cute, shiny little white notebook that fits in your bag.

Allow yourself to reflect on the difference in emotions between the two; you will discover the first reflects sensations of lack and the latter of abundance. But then you knew that already. Deep down, we all know it. What we need to get to the bottom of is why we’re allowing ourselves to tread water in the lake of lack.

Use polarity to locate both the frequency you’re emitting and the one you want to be. If you have been living as a poor person, wallowing in lack, then there is already in existence a rich version of yourself just waiting for you to line up with him or her. Get over it, it’s physics.

Two: Taking it into your being

Collect as many sensations of abundance as with the laptop visualization as you want, and then meditate on them. You’ll probably find that your rational mind will flip ahead to how you’re going to get these things and through which means. Bring it lovingly back to the sensation, as that’s all that matters.

Try to be as specific as possible; as with the laptop, as I’ve found vaguely saying ‘I am abundant’ doesn’t get you anywhere. Combine focusing on these wonderful sensations with deep breaths that honour equal breaths in and breathes out.

This could also be an exploration of why you’re unable to give or receive. If the out breath is giving and the in receiving, experiment with changing the rhythm and note how it shifts the emotional body.

Without rationalizing, once you sense you have hit upon a direct, positive and loving ‘desire’ – such as a laptop – take it into your being. Feel what it would be like if you were given one out of the blue.

You may be desiring this new laptop, but are still imagining it outside of you; beyond reach. Or perhaps you’re imagining that you need to work and suffer for many long hours before you could ever afford it. The universe doesn’t respond to logic.

It only responds to vibration and frequency. So imagine that you have it. You won it or were given it – doesn’t matter by who – how would you feel? You may find that what’s blocking all these wonderful things and experiences you very much deserve is the belief that the universe doesn’t love you that much and would never do something so nice.

Let yourself off the hook and serve yourself up some kindness for heaven’s sake. You are the universe! Give it as a gift to yourself and allow yourself to slip into that vibration whenever you remember to.

It may help to use other visualization techniques to correctly ’take the vibration into your being’. The cup of unconditional love technique has you sipping the vibration to take it from outside to in, or the waterfall where it rains down on you from above are two such techniques.

You can also do this with the bank where you imagine going to a cash point and then ‘drinking’ the gold that comes out of it.

Three: Release

This final stage is just as important as the other two and if missed may never have you reaping the rewards of your efforts. You may even find that all it takes is one big ‘wish’ or desire to be correctly sent to the heavens to get it granted, rather than having to keep sending it out there.

Read the Vibration You are Emitting

Either way, releasing means sending rockets up to the heavens, or simply releasing that sensation of abundance you have locked into in order for the universe to work its magic.

Correctly releasing means lovingly giving up your wish and trusting that there are forces beyond you that understand how to sort out the details. Being allowing is quite an art; it means that you first let go (giving up could even be the way into this, without beating up on yourself of course), and then stay open to opportunity.

Open to opportunity is an amazing way to live. That is completely letting go all control over your life and knowing that there are truly magical and expansive timelines shooting about above your head that are quite literally beyond your wildest dreams.

Don’t you understand that there is stuff out there that is beyond your imagination that you can never manifest on your own?

Give over the control to the higher love and it will see you home. Isn’t it time you let yourself and your life be extraordinary? Let go and stay open to anything that might come knocking. The purpose of your life is to enjoy it. How great is that? We are truly loved.

So there it is; the art of manipulating vibration without the science bit. We all know that at the end of mathematics is creativity and at the heart of creativity is some sort of chaotic logic, so why worry?

Words are not enough when it comes to an understanding of frequency, because we are all party to it, and it could just be the difference between an average life and an extraordinary one.

Once we truly comprehend the futility of holding back and begin to truly live, is when time disappears and the rest of our delicious lives stretch out before us.

In fact, Roman soldiers were known to place Mugwort inside their shoes, claiming that it enabled them to march for longer distances with more speed and stamina, and less pain, than without.

It has also been used in divination rituals when taken as a tea, smoked by sailors as an alternative to tobacco, and sometimes burned in ceremony by Native Americans for purification and protection.

To use Mugwort for lucid dreaming, you can either take it in pill form, or drink it as a tea. Some also claim it works just as well just to put Mugwort leaves under your pillow before sleeping, although this method proved unsuccessful in my own experiments.

However, it must not be used by pregnant or nursing mothers as it has a relaxing effect on the uterus which can lead to potential miscarriage or harm to the nursing child. Also, it is possible to be allergic to this herb, especially if you have a known allergy to plants in the daisy family (Asteraceae). Results from personal experience with Mugwort were somewhat effective. When taken in pill form, dreaming was much deeper, more colorful and vivid than normal, however it proved to be hit-or-miss as far as the occurrence of lucid dreaming.

Mugwort induced dreams that were absolutely more remarkable than without. Also, it doesn’t seem to create any unwanted symptoms, other than lending a slightly calming demeanor that wore off after a few hours of awakening.

This one is a great place to start, and a personal favorite from this list because of its ease of use and relaxing side-effect without a drowsy hang-over.

Galantamine

Galantamine is an amino acid known as a neurotransmitter, or chemical in the brain responsible for communicating messages from one nerve to another. The brain naturally produces Galantamine as a form of Acetylcholine (ACh).

When the levels of Acetylcholine in the brain are elevated, it can boost memory, learning ability, and increase time spent in REM sleep. Low levels of this substance are associated with suppressed sleep, poor memory, mental fog and even dementia.

Galantamine, a natural supplement is derived from certain flowers, is readily available in over-the counter tablets from most health or vitamin retailers. Because of its effect on increasing brain levels of ACh, it has been successfully tested as an inducer of lucid dreaming. To use it in this way, purchase the 4 to 8 mg capsules.

Because ACh will direct the brain into the REM sleep pattern, you must first sleep for 4-5 hours before taking the Galantamine, then take a tablet and return to sleep. If you take it before you go to bed, you will bypass the normal sleep cycles and fall directly into a deep sleep. This will reduce your chances of recalling your dreams and having a lucid experience.

Galantamine tends to rapidly absorb into the body and remains in your system for a full 48 hours. Because of this, you must wait 4 or more days between doses to use it successfully for lucid dreaming. This will only enable you to practice lucid dreaming with Galantamine once or twice a week. It won’t work at all if you take it consecutively, so give it time to clear your system before trying again.

Possible side effects reported are as follows; headaches, drowsiness upon awakening, dizziness, lethargy, diarrhea, nausea, increased menstrual flow, among others.

Dosage: Take 4-8 mg, every 4 days, 4-5 hours after sleeping, and return to sleep. Do not take it consecutively. Check with your doctor before taking it.

Results from personal experience with this supplement were impressive. Lucid dreaming occurred in every instance of ingestion, dreams were very vivid, recall was notable, and the dreams lasted longer than with any other supplements on this list.

However, the trouble of waking after a few hours of sleep to take it, and the drowsy hang-over it left behind, make it a little less user-friendly than other, natural supplement options.

Choline with Galantamine

It is said to benefit the nervous, digestive, endocrine, and reproduction systems, effecting metabolism, muscle movement, energy and brain functions. Like Galatamine, Choline also promotes Ach, which can deepen REM sleep and enhance lucid dreaming.

Personal results from taking Choline for lucid dreaming were positive. Dream recall was vivid, and dreams were much longer than usual. Side effects or hang-over did not occur on any occasion, and sleep was restful. However, lucidity did not occur as often as with Galantamine.

While I did not have 100% successful lucid dreams with Choline alone, I found that if I combined it with the Galatamine, the effects were powerful and increasingly lucid. This combination, so far in my studies, seems to be the most effective and the one I recommend most if you truly want to have the lucid dream experience. When coupled with Galantamine, dream recall was much better, and dream duration much longer than when taken alone.

In the body, Choline loses its efficacy quickly, but if you couple it with Galantamine the levels of Ach will continue to accumulate, keeping the process working until the both supplements are eliminated from the system. This combination enables a longer opportunity for lucidity to occur.

Dosage: For lucid dreaming purposes, use CDP-choline with 250-500mg, combined with 250-500 mg of Galantamine. Choline can be taken before bed, but Galantamine must still be ingested after a few hours of sleep for efficacy.

Always take precaution and please check with your doctor before you take any of these. Although these are each natural supplements, there may be side effects that are not safe for you.

The results of these supplements and their effect on lucid dreaming will vary with each person. Experiment with each one, and record your results, so you can find what work best for you.
