8 Signs You Are the Designer of Your Life

“You need to spend time crawling alone through shadows to truly appreciate what it is to stand in the sun.” ~ Shaun Hick

There is always a great storm before the sky clears to let in the most astounding light. The storm is dark and heavy and may feel like hell but no transformation was ever easy. Be present with yourself in this time, you’re on the right track.

Here are 8 signs that your life is getting better, even though it seems difficult.

1) You’re starting to make major changes in your lifestyle

You stop procrastinating and do what you really want to, simply because you believe you can. You may make changes in your diet, start eating better and successfully stick to exercise regimes. You choose to do things out of a sense of adventure not necessity or obligation.

2) You feel like the world is full of opportunity, perhaps too much of it!

“All the possibilities of your human destiny are asleep in your soul. You are here to realize and honor these possibilities. When love comes in to your life, unrecognized dimensions of your destiny awaken and blossom and grow. Possibility is the secret heart of time.” ~ John O’Donohue, Anam Cara

When you realize your true capabilities and your interests, you may feel confused or misguided. That’s okay, try your hand at whatever your heart desires and see where it takes you!

speedpaint no.11_by_Sylar1133) As you begin to get closer to your real self, you wonder whether you’ve abandoned some distinct parts of you

Everything that becomes a subconscious pattern, attaches itself to the ego and molds our ‘persona’. When we start shedding negative, redundant patterns, we often feel like we’ve lost a part of ourselves.

In reality, we are growing into the version of ourselves that we always wanted and were at our core. So don’t be afraid and know that you are the conscious creator of your life and mind.

4) You are not afraid to speak your mind

You’re no longer afraid to speak your mind and make your truth known to others. This newfound sense of self will often affect your relationships; some might wither away making way for healthier ones.

Just remember that they cannot love or appreciate what they cannot comprehend and require time to understand the real you.

5) With an increased self-awareness you start to understand what you truly want

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ~ Carl Jung

You stop repeating the same mistakes. Through the laborious process of trial and error you have gathered enough self-awareness to live your life honoring your wants and needs. You shed old patterns not only as a consequence of this self-awareness but also, self-love.

You no longer see the point of putting yourself through situations that aren’t in favor of your well-being. All decisions come from a deep, intuitive knowing.

6) You notice things you didn’t before

You may start to feel like you can see right through people’s true intentions. This may scare you at first as some may have less than noble intentions, but it is the gift that comes with being in touch with your intuition. Don’t ignore the signs, always trust your gut!

7) Your sensitivity is through the roof!

“Highly sensitive people are too often perceived as weaklings or damaged goods. To feel intensely is not a symptom of weakness, it is the trademark of the truly alive and compassionate. It is not the empath who is broken, it is society that has become dysfunctional and emotionally disabled. There is no shame in expressing your authentic feelings. Those who are at times described as being a ‘hot mess’ or having ‘too many issues’ are the very fabric of what keeps the dream alive for a more caring, humane world. Never be ashamed to let your tears shine a light in this world.” ~ Anthon St. Maarten

You don’t know why you’ve been bursting into tears at the drop of a hat. You’re more empathic toward yourself and others, as you notice more dissonance between you and people you love.

It all points toward healing the self and relationships. Everything that you feel, must be let out and felt completely.

8) You stop playing the blame game

“Everything changes once we identify with being the witness to the story, instead of the actor in it.” ~ Ram Dass

Finally, you realize that you are the one solely responsible for your actions and happiness. No one else is to be blamed except you. Stop waiting for a person or situation to arise in your life for you to experience happiness.

Reclaim your well-being. See your own divinity, your natural state!

6 Traits People with Attractive Energy Possess

3

“Today you are you. That is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you.” ~ Dr. Seuss

It doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert, making connections with others is something that all of us require to some extent or another.

While some people may prefer having lots of different friends who vary in type all across the board, other people are content with having only a few close friends with whom they feel comfortable around. Either way, it’s simply a matter of personal preference in a world where we are all unique.

However, almost all people can agree on one thing, which is that some people’s energy or presence feels good to be around, and some people do not possess that attribute. Being someone who, other people, like to be around, can enrich our lives greatly.

It doesn’t matter if we are trying to attract one friend or partner or one thousand friends, coming into alignment with our “x-factor” is what will do the trick. Our x-factor is that certain je ne sais quoi that certain people have that make them highly attractive to others.

So what are some of the traits that attractive people possess that others don’t? Below are 6 traits of people who have found their “certain something.”

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.” ~ Coco Chanel

1) They have integrity and respect themselves

A person with integrity has a code of ethics that they live by. Whether someone is watching or not, they always stay true to this code of conduct, which makes them not only extremely trustworthy friends and partners, but also respectable human beings.

In a world where so many people fall into misusing money, sex, and power in order to make themselves feel better, or to manipulate others, a person who truly respects themselves would not be willing to abuse themselves (mind, body or spirit), or anyone else in order for a superficial gain.

When a person treats themselves with the utmost respect, they won’t tolerate being around anyone who doesn’t extend to them the same level of respect.

2) They happily let others have their moment in the sun

There are going to be times in life when we are up and the people in our lives aren’t doing so great, and times when they are doing awesome, and we may have hit a down slope. By being the cheerleader on the side lines for our friends and family when they have good news to share, we form bonds with people that are priceless.

Everyone wants people in their lives who are happy to see them happy. This one trait alone will also attract to us other people who will gladly be our cheerleaders when we have our moment in the spotlight.

3) They are humble

Humility is often misunderstood as being meek, scared or soft, and nothing could be farther from the truth. True humility is a trait that only the powerful and most confident people possess. When someone truly knows their worth as a human being, they are not scared of being overpowered or outshone by others, because they know that everyone is unique and special in their own way.

And, they are happy to help reveal the inner beauty and unique qualities of the people they come across. A humble person treats everyone with respect, from the trash man to the CEO of their company. And it is because of this that they will always have people who are in their corner and wish them well in whatever they do.

4) They are unapologetic about who they are

Attractive people are not afraid to be themselves, because they have come to terms with who they are, they see no need to apologize for it. They are not embarrassed to be the best version of themselves.

Since they have given themselves full permission to be exactly who they are, they naturally give other people in their lives the same permission. When you find someone who allows you to be your self around them without any judgments, it feels good.

In a world where so many people judge and criticize themselves and others, to be completely at peace with people as they are is something that is rare and highly attractive to others.

5) They are not afraid to be imperfect

Confident people are not the ones who think they do no wrong, but rather people who have accepted that they are prone to fallibility.

Making mistakes, or not being perfect is something every single one of us experiences in life and when we accept ourselves regardless of our imperfections, we free ourselves from being scared of the ridicule of others. Life is a learning process and we are all doing the best we can, attractive people know this and often give others the benefit of the doubt in situations.

6) They are open and honest with their true thoughts and feelings

There’s always going to be times when we don’t like the way someone else has treated us, or we feel like our family is over stepping their boundaries in our lives, and that’s ok. By being completely open and honest about our true feelings and, if need be, addressing the situation with other people involved, we create a space where problems can be tended to simply and directly.

Resonating with our x-factor comes down to one trait – authenticity. We are all unique individuals who have our own way to look at life, and when we are comfortable with ourselves just as we are, we will find that we begin to attract the right people, places, and things that complement us.

In order for others to be attracted to us and to feel good in our presence, we must first feel good in our own presence. The relationship we have with ourselves is the ultimate tell-tale sign of what kind of relationships we will have with others.

That’s why we often hear people say, “love yourself first.” The love we extend to our own selves will begin to reflect back to us in the set of external circumstances we attract.

5 Practical Ways to Change Your Reality with Words

1

A few years ago some Russian scientists Pjotr Garjajav, and his research group revealed that 90% of our DNA that was once labeled as ‘junk’ (by findings of The ENCODE project led by Prof. Chris Ponting) actually possessed a higher use and intelligence.

It was revealed that our genetic code followed the same rules as all our languages. Words have a specific vibrational frequencies which can influence our DNA and our body can be programmed by language, words and thought.

tumblr_m4ctk4yMca1rtu7wlo1_r1_500

The words we use shape not only our belief systems, values and feelings but impact our physical bodies on a cellular level; shaping the foundation of our reality. This means it’s important to choose our words wisely and with our highest good at heart.

Here are some ways to change your reality with words:

1) Express yourself honestly

Truthful expression is extremely important. Every feeling and thought you have is valid. When you try to contain it instead of letting it out, you will feel your emotional body struggling in its attempt to break free.

It’s necessary to gives ourselves an outlet to express all our negative emotions before we move on to replacing them with positive affirmations. There can be no transformation without acceptance first.

2) Stop negative self-talk

Change Your Reality with Words

Scrap words and phrases like ‘ugly’, ‘fat’, ‘I can’t’ and ‘I hate’ as these words create dissonant energy within us, and stir negative frequencies of worthlessness, suffering and fear.

When you want to express a negative emotion or thought, use words like ‘I feel’ or ‘I prefer’ over ‘I hate’ and ‘I can’t’. Using positive words like ‘loving, grateful, superb, beautiful, thriving, energized, healthy, creative, incredible’ will transform your feelings and impressions of yourself.

3) Feed the emotional body with a healthy vocabulary

Just like our bodies respond better to balanced fresh meals, our emotional bodies need to be encouraged, loved and cared for.

Repeat to yourself, “I am good enough,” “I am strong and capable,” “Wherever I am, whatever I do and whoever I become, I am safe and I am loved,” “I open myself up to love and light.”

This incites a greater confidence and ease within us. It will free you from anxiety and fear as we start to function out of love.

4) Choose what you feed your mind

The words that impact us are not only the ones we speak but the ones we voluntarily expose ourselves to. We can choose films to watch that open our minds, educate and evolve us.

Darren Aronovksy’s The Fountain is a great graphic novel and also film to start with. We can listen to music that soothes our soul, that does not dwell/focus on pain, angst, toxicity and suffering.

om_sacred_geometry_olga_kuczer_by_olga_kuczer-d81yba0

A personal favorite is Ho’oponopono, an ancient Hawaiian healing song which translates to “I am sorry, please forgive me, I thank you and I love you.” There are several versions of it ranging from psychedelic trance to authentic tribal tunes.

5) Learn mantras for different purposes

A mantra is not just an ordinary combination of letters and syllables, but a living force that acts as a medicine for the soul. Each word has its own power and triggers a certain reaction within us. They work deep within our subconscious, destroying the unwanted and replacing it with light like medicine.

Here are some chants that can help in raising our consciousness:

Om

Chanting Om, the sound of the universe, binds you to the source. It reminds you of your roots. Not the superficial ones of nationality or race but much deeper; the ‘you’ at the universal level.

Gayatri Mantra

Used for conscious spiritual growth, the Gayatri Mantra is aimed at purification of the self.
https://youtu.be/GEVvyIrQZnA?si=SRKXjXH_vGnzfsjz

Om buhr, bhuva svah
tat savitur varenyam
bhargo devasya dhīmahi
dhiyo yo nah pracodayat

It is roughly translated to:

We meditate on the glory of the Creator;
Who has created the Universe;
Who is worthy of Worship;
Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light;
Who is the remover of Sin and Ignorance;
May He open our hearts and enlighten our Intellect.

Om Mani Padme Hum

Also known as the Compassion Buddha Mantra, it focuses on non-attachment to your pain, anger or suffering. Through non-attachment, one can love something for what it truly is. The Dalai Lama speaks of it as a mantra that helps you find your own ‘buddhahood’: the divine inside of you.

It is said that “In dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.” Every sound has a deep and intricate meaning.

When we choose certain words to describe our thoughts, our selves or other people, we have subconsciously foretold how they will impact us. It is as if we have made a contract with ourselves to receive only the extent of our definitions.

The universe listens to the vibrational intention of all the words we speak and all the thoughts we believe to be true, and as we evolve, more and more of our subconscious nature is revealed to us.

5 Reasons Why you Should Live in the Now

0

“The reality consists only of now the present moment. It has nothing to do with the past and nothing to do with the future. It is so concentrated in this moment that if you can be in this moment, all that you are seeking and searching will be fulfilled. This moment is the door to the divine.” ~ Osho

By now you’ve probably heard the phrase “being in the now”. Although it seems pretty self explanatory and simple to do (because the “now” moment is actually the only moment that we ever can be in, technically), this is something that many of us still struggle with.

Ironically, the fact that we need to be told to be in the one place that there ever is to be in, speaks volumes of our species. But, hey, we’re getting there, right? So if we need to be told to live in the now and that means that most of us are not living in the now moment, then where exactly are we?

In our thoughts about the now, of course. Or, our thoughts about the “now” that happened two years ago, or the “now” that happened two hours ago, or even the “now” that may or may not happen five years from, well, now. For many, an entire life can happen all inside of their head.

Reality as they “think” it is may or may not have anything to do with what is actually happening, and the obsessive analyzing of the now moment takes precedence over actually experiencing the present.

All of us are doing this to one extent or another, and after years and years of living this way, it will require some practice and patience to train our minds to quiet down and our feelings to feel safe enough to come out of hiding.

However, it is a practice that is well worth it. Below are five reasons why you should start living in the now:

“The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment, you create a good future by creating a good present.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

1) How you feel now determines how you will feel later

There’s a reason people say, “a negative mind will never attract a positive life.” If we are constantly judging our present moment as “wrong,” “not good enough,” or “terrible”, we begin to only find evidence of these judgments.

By being in the now without judging it as wrong, we begin to see our life unfold synchronistically, and we begin to feel good majority of the times.

2) Miracles begin to emergenowimage4

Life is actually full of magical moments and little “winks” from the universe, but most people are so caught up in their own minds to notice. When we are so involved in our thoughts we often spend the now replaying the past or imagining the future which means the small magical things such as watching the stars, or listening to our children laugh are lost on us.

The truly beautiful moments in life can not be appreciated if we are not mentally present enough to witness it.

“Accept-then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always, work with it instead of against it.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

3) You and life sync up in harmony

Imagine if you lived your entire life trusting that each moment was exactly as it was supposed to be. Now of course the questioning of our circumstances is often what leads us to deeper realizations, but on a grander scale of consciousness we find that a constant effort to “understand” is often something that becomes a futile effort.

As we become more present and in tune with life’s way vs. how we think situations “should” have played out, we intuitively know when life is showing us something that we need to take note of, or when our minds are trying to take us out of the present moment by the incessant chatter it is spewing out.

As one begins to live in the now a majority of the time, they begin to cultivate faith in reality that shows them that they have in fact survived millions of “now” moments up until this point, so this “now” moment should be no different.

4) You save precious time and energy not over-analyzing everythingnowimage2

How often do we exhaust ourselves physically and emotionally by over-analyzing everything? We replay scenes in our imagination of what we think we “should” have said at the time, we analyze our friends or families behavior and worry about them, we worry about what will happen the next day at work.

Let’s face it, over-thinking takes up a lot of our time and energy. However, when we become present we stop letting our imaginations get carried away with worry. Life is always working in our favor even if we have to experience some pain and suffering along the way.

When this truth is accepted, the now moment becomes something that we welcome with open arms, not something we dread days ahead of time. Trust that you are always being put into situations that are furthering your growth and evolution.

5) Being present is attractive and comforting to others

When you meet someone who lives in the now a majority of the time, you can feel it. They listen, not with the intent to reply, but simply listen with their complete attention. This quality can be highly effective in our communication with the people in our lives and also with people we barely know.

Being hurried, rude even is the norm for so many these days, so to break free from that mold and give people your full present attention makes them feel seen and heard. One by one we make the world a better place by being the change we wish to see.

Living in the now is not something that we will be able to do all the time. There are actually times in life where thoughts are needed and required, but actually not as often as you may think. seize_the_day_wallpaper_by_lalolb-d34jzyx

Most things we have learned to do, we do without even thinking about them anymore. Which only proves that we do not need to have conscious control over every little second of our lives. We do not tell our feet to walk, right foot, left foot.

We do not remind ourselves to breathe, or think about how to drive a car each second we are behind the wheel. So, relax a little. Meditate if you need to but whatever you do, don’t “try” to live in the now.

As you become more relaxed as an individual, you will begin to notice that living in the now is actually coming quite natural to you. As time passes, your consciousness level rises, and the ego unravels automatically and our pure presence emerges right into that space.

As a result, living in the now will no longer be something you wish you could do, but rather, something that flows effortlessly.

5 Anarchists and Their Contribution to Human Progress

1

“Anarchy doesn’t mean out of control; it means out of their control.” ~ Jim Dodge

In 1793 William Godwin wrote Inquiry Concerning Political Justice, implicitly establishing the philosophical foundations of anarchism; laying down the foundation of anarchy, as it would be understood by those brave anarchists who would follow.

In his own words: “Government by its very nature counteracts the improvement of original mind.” The following five anarchists were the heavy-hitters who refused to have their original minds counteracted by existing governments.

1) Henry David Thoreau

“The mass of men serve the state thus, not as men mainly, but as machines, with their bodies. They are the standing army, and the militia, jailers, constables, etc. In most cases there is no free exercise whatever of the judgement or of the moral sense; but they put themselves on a level with wood and earth and stones; and wooden men can perhaps be manufactured that will serve the purpose as well. Such command no more respect than men of straw or a lump of dirt. They have the same sort of worth only as horses and dogs. Yet such as these even are commonly esteemed good citizens.” ~ Thoreau

If Godwin is the grandfather of anarchy, then Thoreau is arguably the father. Best known for his book about simple living, Walden, he also wrote the blueprint on civil disobedience in 1849 in his greatly influential treatise, Resistance to Civil Government, which was a radical philosophical discourse that later influenced the political thoughts and actions of such notable figures as Leo Tolstoy, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

He doubled down on the motto “That government is best which governs least” with the addendum, “That government is best which governs not at all.” Thus opening the door to anarchy. He taught us that life is too short not to seize it; that life is too precious not to make it something of our own.

He challenged the status quo, saying, “Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.” He slammed the proverbial gauntlet at the feet of anyone claiming to be a forceful authority. “I was not designed to be forced,” he said. “I will breathe after my own fashion. Let us see who is the strongest.”

2) Emma Goldman

“Anarchism stands for the liberation of the human mind from the dominion of religion; the liberation of the human body from the dominion of property; and the liberation from the shackles and restraint of government. It stands for a social order based on the free grouping of individuals.” ~ Emma Goldman

Emma Goldman was an anarchist par excellence. She resisted the oppression of both American and Russian authorities for most of her life, hounded by the state and constantly under surveillance.

She went to jail multiple times for her cause. She was anti-state, anti-war, anti-prison, and anti-voting, saying, “If voting changed anything, they’d make it illegal.” She was even considered “the most dangerous woman in America” according to historian Paul Avrich.

She was an early advocate of free speech, birth control, women’s equality and independence, and union organization. Though she didn’t self-identify as a feminist, she put Anarcha-feminism on the map and didn’t look back.

She was thoroughly devoted to anarchism, calling it a “beautiful ideal,” and “the right to self-expression, everybody’s right to beautiful, radiant things. Anarchism means that to me, and I will live it in spite of the whole world — prisons, persecution, everything. Yes, even in spite of the condemnation of my own closest comrades I would live my beautiful ideal.”

When told by a fellow anarchist (at a dance, mind you) that her “dancing with such reckless abandon was undignified for one who was on the way to become a force in the anarchist movement, and that her frivolity would only hurt the cause,” Goldman was reported as saying, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.”

3) Mohandas Gandhi

“The ideal nonviolent state would be an ordered anarchy.” ~ Gandhi

Gandhi was a self-described philosophical anarchist and believed in Swaraj: self-rule. It was his idea that self-rule in a nation meant that every person rules himself and that there is no tyrannical state which enforces laws upon the people, and how, through nonviolent conflict mediation over time, power could be siphoned from the state’s hierarchical system and expiated among the people.

anarcheyeHe is best known for his philosophy of direct nonviolence (ahimsa), for his theory of Satyagraha, and for leading the Salt March against the British tax on salt. Satyagraha is a form of proactive nonviolence that seeks to eliminate violence without becoming violent in return, thus arming the individual with moral power rather than mere physical power.

The Salt March was an act of Satyagraha, as it opposed the violence of the state (British rule) through the nonviolent act of sidestepping the state and directly making salt instead.

In his own words: “Satyagraha does not mean meek submission to the will of the evil-doer. It means the pitting of one’s whole soul against the will of the tyrant. Working under this law of our being, it is possible for a single individual to defy the whole might of an unjust empire to save his honor, his spirituality, his soul and lay the foundation for that empire’s fall.” This theory had a huge influence on Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr.

4) Howard Zinn

“They’ll say we’re disturbing the peace, but there is no peace. What really bothers them is that we are disturbing the war.” ~ Howard Zinn

Howard Zinn is famous for his best-selling historical book, A People’s History of the United States. He was an essential facilitator of anarchy, motivating the youth in ways not seen since Martin Luther King Jr. As he states in his memoir, You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train, “The power of a bold idea uttered publicly in defiance of dominant opinion cannot be easily measured. Those special people who speak out in such a way as to shake up not only the self-assurance of their enemies, but the complacency of their friends, are precious catalysts for change.”

He was a catalyst’s catalyst, a leader who led through courageous articulation. He had his finger on the pulse of the nation and its history. The pulse he felt was gluttonous with excessive greed and power on one side of the vein and oppressive with structural violence and unnecessary poverty on the other.

In his own words: “The state and its police were not neutral referees in a society of contending interests. They were on the side of the rich and powerful. Free speech? Try it and the police will be there with their horses, their clubs, and their guns, to stop you. From that moment on, I was no longer a liberal, a believer in the self-correcting character of American democracy. I was a radical, believing that something fundamental was wrong in this country.”

5) Noam Chomsky

“About 70 percent of the population, at the lower end of the wealth/income scale, has no influence on policy. Moving up the scale, influence slowly increases. At the very top are those who pretty much determine policy, by means that aren’t obscure. The resulting system is not democracy but plutocracy.” ~ Noam Chomsky

anarchyyNoam Chomsky is a Jack of all Trades, with interests in fields as diverse as metalanguage, cognitive psychology, philosophy of the mind, politics, ethics, and activism. Ideologically, he’s an anarcho-syndicalist. Politically, he’s known for being an outspoken opponent of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, which he sees as acts of American imperialism. He even earned a place on President Nixon’s “Enemies List” in 1967.

His influential political essay, The Responsibility of Intellectuals (1967), about the US involvement in Vietnam, put him on the anarchist map, but his most important work was arguably Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media (1988), which was eventually adapted into a film.

In this book, he shreds the veil between the propagandized mainstream media model and the censorship between content and viewer. In his own words: “The mass media serve as a system for communicating messages and symbols to the general populace. It is their function to amuse, entertain, and inform, and to inculcate individuals with the values, beliefs, and codes of behavior that will integrate them into the institutional structures of the larger society. In a world of concentrated wealth and major conflicts of class interest, to fulfill this role requires systematic propaganda.”

Conclusion:

If, as Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Capitalism fails to realize that life is social. Communism fails to realize that life is personal,” then maybe anarchy is socially aware enough to realize the inherent truths of both individualism and collectivism.

The five heavy-hitting anarchists discussed in this article show through supreme living example how anarchy can be both an intellectual and an actual reality. They give us permission to disregard the laws of the corporate/consumerist State, and help us to see how we too are morally obligated to strike down the plutocracy that threatens our democracy.

Indeed, as these fellow anarchists would probably agree, democracy through anarchy trumps capitalism through plutocracy. In the end, maybe anarchy can lead us back to a more rational assessment of what is moral by working against tradition and inviting us to recalibrate our habits with the natural order of things.
